30 Rock -- "The Natural Order" -- 4/30/09

30 Rock

Synopsis:

Spoiler:

Liz chides Tracy in front of the staffers, which compels Tracy to become more professional and mature. He forfeits all special treatment---but he feels that Liz should do the same. Meanwhile, Jack's tormenting mother (Elaine Stritch) arrives, only to dig up nasty memories about Jack's father. And Jenna adopts a monkey. Steve Buscemi guest stars.

Jack's Mom is back!! Should be a doozy.

This is fast becoming my favorite show. The barrage of jokes reminds me of the good Simpsons seasons.

I like how
Spoiler:
"And Jenna adopts a monkey"
is just thrown in there very casually. Not that any more explanation is required

Much slower pace this ep. And yet, it still felt too short. The Jenna storyline was a waste.

"It bit off my nut sack!"; Florida jokes with old folks

The fan effect on Liz's hair when Lutz rips one.

Tracy with the race card was great
"No, don't accept it!"

This show is so good, it's actually hard to find much to say about it.

I am a bit disappointed we didn't get much explanation for Jonathan being back.

It was kind of suggested at the end of the cutbacks episode when Jack fired Kenneth.

I suppose, but I would have preferred a bit centered around that plot point instead of him just being back. Not a huge thing.

"What are we, Italian Parliament?"

"Have you been to Florida? It's basically a criminal population. It's America's Australia!"

"Jack, do you treat me any differently because I'm a woman?"
"Well I, pay you a little less... yes."

Re: 30 Rock -- "The Natural Order" -- 4/30/09

I liked professional Tracy, and how it broke him at the end when doing paperwork, alone except for the janitor. "I don't want to be here! Who's this guy?!?"

The Jenna plot had an obvious conclusion, but the gibbon's reaction to seeing it's "baby" die was stlll pretty funny.

"I have the chance to go back in the past and put right what once went wrong."
"That's the intro to Quantum Leap."

Hilarious!!

Jack's reaction to Liz's "Simon Cowell" suggestion was awesome, and then the word for word speech with only the names substituted...

Don't know why but Liz and Water Cooler gag was hilarious to me. Maybe because as a Male I've been asked to do it many a time. Some of you younger punks around here probably don't remember the big ass heavy GLASS WATER BOTTLES they had before the lightweight plastic and smaller sized water bottles for the coolers.

It was funny, but I remembered Ellen DeGeneres doing the same thing on her show years ago so that diminished it a little for me.

Or that they were open and you had to time it right not to spill water every where.

Best line. The Jenna-monkey plot seemed like it was straight out of the Simpsons. I also liked Liz's line "Let's all go watch some naked mothers and daughters!"

I also liked the call back to the party at Kenneth's apt when Liz made Grizz cry

"Grizz, it was a year ago and you're engaged now, just drop it."

Re: 30 Rock -- "The Natural Order" -- 4/30/09

the water bottle was funny but went on a little too long

I don't think Tina Feys strength is physical comedy.
