In Plain Sight -- "In My Humboldt Opinion" -- 4/26/09

Mary and Marshall

Synopsis:

Spoiler:

When a marijuana mastermind from the Northern California grasslands is unable to testify without the pot to neutralize his Severe Anxiety Disorder, Mary finds herself in the weeds.

I liked last week's season premiere, but I didn't love it. Hopefully Mary is back to her usual shelf from here on out.

I think that Eleanor might be associated with the FBI. They are pushing around Witsec obviously and now a new person just randomly comes in? I think it's very possible.

Re: In Plain Sight -- "In My Humboldt Opinion" -- 4/26/09

Okay I know In Plain Sight hasn't really caught on here yet. I hope it does eventually.

I thought this was a really really solid episode. Much better than the season premiere.

Mary for the most part was back to her usual hot firecracker self that I grew to love in season 1. I absolutely love how she's not afraid to speak her mind and express her frustrations with the witnesses. The Pot head was pretty funny and I got a kick out of Mary losing it several times with him.

Love Marshall. I love his witty banter with Stan and Mary.

It was cool seeing Rafael back again. Hopefully since De La Fuente is now a series regular that they will utilize him more than being someone that Mary has sex with occassionally.

Jinx is still annoying, but Brandi is actually growing on me. I thought it was funny when she tried on one of Mary's suits.....I was surprised it actually fit since Mary is way more curvier than her.

I think Mary is going to continue to feel repercussions from the trauma for the rest of the season. The psychologist made some very interesting observations that Mary is obviously going to track now that they've been pointed out about her personality.

Kevin Rankin (the witness) is in like everything these days!

I'm glad they picked up Jinx's storyline about Sweet Charity by giving her the lead. It should be fun to follow if she can ever commit to getting to rehearsal sober!

Elanor is the secretary, right? I think she's a plant, also.

Could someone explain the thing with the towels? I know it was referencing last season's finale somehow, but my memory from that episode is rusty.

when the feds opened up Mary's car at the end, they found the "drug" suitcase but it was full of towels. the same towels that Raf had at his place. Mary put it together that he helped her sister.

More like Raf had NO towels in his linen closet except the one hand towel.

Thanks. What ended up happening with the drugs?

And is this really the first time Raf has taken a shower since last season?

A bit of nepotism going on with this show.

The guy that played the FBI agent towards the end of last season and in this episode is Mary McCormack's brother.
He also has a recurring role in Bros and Sis.

The gal who played the shrink that followed Mary around is Marshal's (Fred Weller) real life wife.

i think it may have been a combination of both. often times i'll have only 1 towel left in my closet b/c i'm washing the rest. she probably put everything together and realized he helped her.

Well, she is the star of the show, so I'm sure she has some pull. As to why the FBI guy was on Brother and Sisters, Mary McCormick's husband is the creator of Brothers and Sisters. So, you are right, probably a bit of nepotism going on, but then again, the show is shot on location in New Mexico, so they probably can't get a ton of actors to help out.

Raf took the drugs to a baseball diamond and they ended up being used as the white lining for the field.

At the end of last season, we saw Raf "lining" the baseball field with them.

Oh, right! I totally forgot about that. Last season seems so long ago for some reason.

Your partially correct. Michael Morris is listed as a Supervising Producer, not creator. The creator of B&S is actually Jon Robin Baitz, who is an openly gay playwright.

Howard Stern always tells the story wrong, then. He's friends w/ Mary and always talks about her husband.

I understand that. I said, Howard Stern always goes on about how Mary's husband was the creator of the show. He's obviously wrong, and I'm wrong for listening to him. Clear?
