Smallville -- "Stiletto" -- 4/23/09

Smallville

Synopsis:

Spoiler:

Pretending she is the superhero Stiletto, Lois secures her star-reporter status by scoring exclusive interviews with the city's newest crimefighter. Clark fears for her safety until she ably saves him from Kryptonite-wielding thugs.

Looking forward to Erica's return. 3 episodes left after Thursday night.

Okay... here's hoping this is a decent standalone. I'm getting very leery about this "let's do just one more season" thing. I suspect they will limp to the finale since they're going to continue to stretch the Doomsday stuff into next season now instead of tying it up as a one season arc.

Re: Smallville -- "Stiletto" -- 4/23/09

There was an article from Ausiello several weeks ago that said:

Spoiler:

One of the main characters, who is featured in the opening credits will be killed off before the season is over.

I'm sure the candidates are:

Spoiler:

Davis
Chloe
Tess

since none of them are intregal to the overall Superman arc.

It started out lame, but Lois meeting the RBB at the end was great. She did say he needs a new name because RBB is a mouthful. So the writers do read the forums!

I don't understand Chloe's problem, did Jimmy attack her?

Not bad. Wish the outfit showed more skin, although the initial shot of her putting it on was nice. She looked hotter in her pre-Stiletto attire.

at kyrptonite being a key ingredient for counterfeiting.

Just the 121Th time they have had kyrptonite stop Clark from doing something, it is getting rather old.

And yes, really silly.

Chloe is hiding Davis (Doomsday) in her basement. Jimmy didnt attack her, he just dumped her ass because of all the secrets. The guy that attacked her tonight was one of the mob guys who was sent to find out what she knew. Davis grabbed him and dragged him off. She disposed of the left over bits when she took out the trash.

Oh, ok, forgot about that Chloe had Davis in the basement. Guess that was who Chloe was expecting at the table instead of Clark.

Re: Smallville -- "Stiletto" -- 4/23/09

I'm cool with Davis being set off by people attacking Chloe but isn't Davis' main trigger supposed to be Clark? Then why the hell does he not sense Clark and transform into Doomsday every time Clark drops by for a visit?

If this show is around for another season, they must drop all use of Kryptonite that doesn't involve someone holding a huge chunk of it over Clark with the intent of killing him with it.

Honestly, all purpose Kryptonite is an angle that should have been dropped way back in season one.

For the love of cheese, YES, I am sure someone has, count every time Kryptonite has been there to make him useless, and even that makes little sense sometimes, one time he can cut himself with it, yet the if someone sets the rock on top of him he acts like he cannot even toss it away, silly.

I know, have Lana go around absorbing all the Kryptonite. (off screen) There is just too much of it used for everything.

Re: Smallville -- "Stiletto" -- 4/23/09

Yeah, that does bug me as well. I understand the Kryptonite is painful to him but the fact that he puts such a halfhearted attempt to toss away or at least kick at a snall piece of Kryptonite that is a few feat from him is beyond ridiculous. But that is nothing compared to all the ridiculous applications for Kryptonite this show keeps coming up with. Using it as ink for counterfeit bills is the worst one yet. Why would anyone even think "gee, maybe I should grind this glowing rock and process it into an ink for counterfeit bills"?

Or even when he was walking to Lana when he could no longer be near him, he pushed through that, yet moving a light rock away from him is just to hard when he could die, silly, well, look at the superman film, they did that as well, come on try a little harder.

No idea how he will be superman in this universe, there will be kryptonite everywhere and people will find out.

Why would anyone even think "gee, maybe I should grind this glowing rock and process it into an ink for counterfeit bills"?
I thought the same thing, what makes it so special for ink? Lets take this crystal type rock and turn it into ink? What?

I found some cool rocks behgind my house. I grinded them down and used them to paint my living room and they make a great laundry detergent too.

The last act sort of saved this but as a whole this was a horrible episode. How exactly did Lois jump through the skylight and land on her feet and not hurt herself at all? The Chloe/Davis thing makes no sense and is down right stupid. Jimmy needs to be killed already because he's adding nothing to the show.

Kryptonite is the Arm & Hammer Baking Soda of the Smallville universe.

Re: Smallville -- "Stiletto" -- 4/23/09

I thought it was a good episode. The whole Stiletto thing was a little silly, but it was still fun nevertheless.

I thought Erica looked way hotter in that black dress and long stiletto boots than that ridiculous outfit.

The whole Davis and Chloe thing is kinda stupid. I hope that by the season finale that shit is wrapped up.

The writers just can't seem to find anything useful for Aaron Ashmore to do these days. Jimmy is just a waste of a character at this point.

Fun episode. Only Lois would thing of a non-identity-hiding outfit for Stiletto, seemed more interested in the glamor shots! Chloe dragging body parts to the dumpster in plastic bags was stupid, though...

Personally. I thought the episode was Okay, and i enjoyed Lois & The RBB's Phone call. i dunno it just seem really sweet. and it's better then just sticking up lois again like in Infamous."

Re: Smallville -- "Stiletto" -- 4/23/09

Wow, if this were a first year show, the CW would have pulled this show long before the 13th episode because the writing is so terrible that they wouldn't have been able to attract a million people to watch this.

It really is a shame to see how far the quality has fallen and it sucks that it will be coming back next year at probably an even lower quality level of writing.

I guess familiarity breeds 4 million viewers a week and the top rated show on the CW. I really doubt I will watch it next season.
