The Unusuals -- "Boorland Day" -- 04/15/09

Tamblyn

Synopsis:

Spoiler:

When a notorious family of criminals go on a crime spree, Walsh and Shraeger uncover the reason behind the rampage and use it to negotiate. Meanwhile, Shraeger is asked to look into Walsh's past after being informed his ex-partner was a dirty cop; and Cole's old partner in crime shows up.

Sticking with Shraeger (Amber Tamblyn) as my promo photo.

I liked the 1st episode, so let's see where this show goes from here.

I thought the first ep was decent enough, so I'll be watching tonight (and there is jack shit else on)

This is a fun show, but I won't be upset if it doesn't get renewed.

Anyone notice that the family's father was a prison guard on Oz? That's 3 Oz alumni so far on this show. Did one of the Oz creators make this show?

i think it's b/c it's a NY filmed show and they are drawing from NY based actors. sort of like how on L&O you'll see the same actors on the show multiple times, sometimes even in different roles.

Last night's ep was not as strong as the pilot, imo. Will continue to tune in though to see where it goes...

Amber Tamblyn reminds me of a hotter, much younger version of Jeanne Tripplehorn, for some reason.

AS with the first episode, I lost interest about half way through.

I'm enjoying it. It's not the best show I've ever seen, but the Adam Goldberg-Harold Perrineau partnership alone makes it worthwhile.

Re: The Unusuals -- "Boorland Day" -- 04/15/09

One thing that bothers me is the actress playing the female cop. I know this show isn't meant to be that realistic, but I just don't buy her as a cop. She looks like she's 18.

I gave it 2 episodes and I think I'm done. I only watched it for the Oz alums, but that's not enough keep me watching. I think once Lost's season finishes this show is screwed. I said it last week in the Southland thread, but if The Unusuals cast (minus the female lead) would replace Southland's cast I think we would have a good on our hands (I've yet to watch this week's Southland).

I'm still enjoying it, but it's one of those shows that I catch a day or two later on abc.com when things are slow at work.. I agree about the Goldberg/Perrineu partnership though.

"I love you too man"
"don't be gay"
