Instead they had issues right from the start with a poor plot, poor character development, timeline conflicts and downright boring character interaction. Very little on this show made sense, the notion that the fans of Terminator would love it died early on. What chance did they have then?

Wow, just cancel the fucking show or don't. Will they, won't they, will they, won't they.

Do they actually think that the audience will increase next season?
They are even waiting on word for Dollhouse to see if it does better with a better lead in than TSCC.

Does anybody know of some previous shows that were in Terminator's time slot and how they did compared to Terminator?

I mean, like others have said, that's pretty much the doldrums as far as time slots go, so even if they do cancel it, what else could FOX put there that would bring in an acceptable number of viewers?

As far as I know, Friday has been for the alst couple of years a pretty slow night. Popular shows on Friday nights dont usually do too well when you compare their viewerships with shows on other nights. One exception to this is the Ghost Whisperer, but I can think of two big reasons for that. Unfortunately they werent big enough to save Moonlight.

Ghost Whisperer targets a totally different audience. Old people and invalids who have nothing else to do on Friday nights.

T-SCC has great 18-49 numbers and those folks are usually out on a Friday night, thus accounting for T-SCC's great time shift numbers.

Although I'm a fan of the show, I wasn't sure if it was loved outside of the main forums I visit (DvdTalk and AVS). This week I've checked several sci-fi/geek forums and the show is loved as much. As mentioned before, some think the finale was better than BSG.

So yeah, there's a lot of people that really like this show and that think it's amazing.

Unfortunately the masses simply don't watch it.

I absolutely love the show and it one of the very few shows I watch on a regular basis. A couple of the episodes really blew, but overall it was a very entertaining series and I will definitely be sad to see it go, if in fact it does get cancelled.

Some cheaply produced reality show, or game show, or funny clip show.

Re: Sarah Connor Chronicles to Be Cancelled

They should make this show a series of 2 hour movies released straight to DVD, but with the movie coming out that would dilute the brand name.

Re: Sarah Connor Chronicles to Be Cancelled

I bet they will withhold judgment until after the Terminator movie comes out. If this film is HUGE they might try to see what they can work with. How many TV series are based on a major blockbuster movie and follow so soon after the film comes out? What if Christian Bale does a cameo for the pilot? What if they get to recycle some special effects, props, vehicles, etc?

Id say this franchise, and this movie will cause it to be treated differently than other shows with low ratings.

This from IGN: http://tv.ign.com/articles/973/973668p1.html

maybe it's not dead after all? I hope not, but S2 dragged until the last 3-4 episodes after a stellar S1.

^Yup, I posted a similar story on the last page.

FOX is not annoucing their fall shows until May 18th, so any source saying it's cancelled is probably false.

Hmm but thats still 5 days before the movie opens. I would think they would wait till the Monday after.

This would be a good candidate for DIRECTV to pick up.

Didnt I just say that Ghost whisperer was an exception to "everything on friday does horrible"? Obviously the demos are different for the terminator and ghost whisperer.

Re: Sarah Connor Chronicles to Be Cancelled

Well, the new Prison Break this Friday only pulled in 3.38 million viewers and a 1.2/4 rating in the 18-49 demo. That's actually less than what Terminator and Dollhouse each pulled in the week before (Terminator had 3.56 million viewers and 1.3/5 in 18-49 that week). Not that this news really does anything but further prove that Fridays on Fox are a ratings black hole. The sad thing is Fox is probably better off running reruns of Bones and House on Fridays because they'd probably get about the same ratings as anything new they would put there.

Actually, I think when House (R) was on Fridays it was pulling 5 - 6m. Though I think that was when the series was still growing its audience.

I don't think Fox is looking to replace SCC with Prison Break, they are just doing us fans a favor and airing the last episodes of the series. (Which I am grateful that they are doing - and didn't just pull the plug)

I have to be honest - SCC had some good episodes, but I would say that 1/3 of them were quite dull, and the relationship stuff drags this show to a halt IMHO.

Re: Sarah Connor Chronicles to Be Cancelled

If Terminator does get the axe, it'll be a shame. Yes there were episodes that weren't that great but the past few episodes REALLY picked up the pass and were of an entirely better quality than the earlier episodes. That season finale was one of the best episodes of any series I've seen in a while.

Yeah, but two episodes out of 20 something isn't a good track record.
Most people have moved on.

I'd say there were only about 3-4 episodes that were really bad. Namely, the half season finale and the first 2-3 of the new half season. Everything else was good, if not very good, and at times fantastic.

But I think the move to Friday coupled with the awful half season premiere slit its own throat.

Agreed.

The majority of the episodes ranged from good to very good. It's those few bad episodes you listed that, it seems, people just can't forget.

I hope it makes it back.
