My issue with Charlie's wife was that they casted that ugly/horrible actress who played the mother of Tom's illegitimate daughter on Desperate Housewives.
Other than that, it was a really cool episode. It's cool that they take a break from the on going story arc every once and a while and goa cool "Monster of the Week" episiode. I thought the monster was really well done.
And you know I've never got any impression that Charlie has some type of sexual attraction for Olivia. I did get the sense of some jealousy from Olivia that Peter is "friends" with her sister.

Yup, when Fox did that last week, I immediately changed all of the Fringe season passes to add a 30 minute pad. Like most people with half a brain and even less imagination, I don't give a shit about Idol, and even hate that I have to watch some of that drivel even on FF while skipping to catch the start of Fringe.

Yeah, last week I added 15 mins and yesterday I added 10 mins.
Fringe is one of the shows we watch almost live, start watching at the 20 mins, to finish at the same time that the live transmission. So we saw when Idol ended and just added the minutes.

This episode had such an X-Files vibe to it, more so than any previous. Right down to the guns and flashlights being aimed simultaneously in the sewer. And the worms crawling under Charlie's skin looked like the black "ooze" taking over a host.
I kept expecting the monster to end up looking like this:

This was the kind of episode that I thought Fringe would have. Unfortunately that is not a good thing. We need more arc. Did they forget about the whole multi-verse thing ... How could they? It's as if they have a separate bin of filler episodes that can be used out of order. Not a bad episode, just a waste of my time ... and that's not a bad thing either.

I looked her up on IMDB. Her name is Kiersten Warren.
Actually, she is Charlie's (Kirk Acevedo) wife in real life. She actually looked pretty good a few years ago. I don't know if she had some bad plastic surgery or what.

I thought she was kind of cute myself. Different strokes I guess.
I wasn't sure we would see the full monster. I guess they blew their budget on the last shots of the monster. The only problem was the monster was to big to fit in a tree above Charlie, it was to big to fit in the playground tube, and to small to flip a car. Also it didn't look fast enough to catch a speeding car, it looked more powerful than fast. So they needed to make the teaser shots better in my opinion. Still a good episode.

I liked it. I sometimes hate when shows have a filler episode like this, but with Fringe, I like the characters/dialogue so much that I didn't mind, we got some really good creepy moments too... plus I'm a sucker for those type of monster stories. Solid. I was surprised Charlie had a wife, but that makes him love of Olivia even more interesting IMO... liked the bit at the end, I'd probably have to sleep with the light on too if I'd seen half the shit they've seen.

I was lucky enough to watch 'live' last week and pad the DVR for the ending. I forgot this week though, dammit. What exactly is the deal with Idol? Is it LIVE live, and that's why they can't end it on time? What horseshit.

I thought the episode was ok. The monster of the week episode wasn't really that great and we got a bad CGI monster too.
