Is anyone watching "Better Off Ted"?
I have seen three episodes so far and have caught myself laughing out loud pretty consistently. It is a fun concept and has a very talented cast. I have to wonder if they can maintain the "history" through the plotlines as they progress. I hope it is getting decent ratings because I find it very funny.

I've watched two episodes now...guess my Tivo didn't grab one of them??
I think it's a cute show, has more laughs than a lot of sitcoms, but I'm not sure how it'll connect with the mainstream audience given it's quirkiness and its setting.
They advertised it as a show about corporate America--I think that would do well--but being so focused around innovative and defensive product development, I think fewer people will relate to the setting.
Anyway, it's still on my season pass, I've enjoyed what I've seen, but if it were canceled, I can't say I'd really notice at this point. I think they need to ramp something about the show up so it becomes a little more "must see."

I like it, but its a little out there for mainstream TV. It really has the potential to be very good. If it can hang on for awhile it might be able to generate a modest viewership.

The 3rd episode was my favorite, followed by the first and the second. I thought that the second episode was extremely weak.

I watched the first 2, but didn't like it. There are some comments about the first 2 episodes here:

I am really getting tired of this "talking to the camera" thing they are doing in sitcoms these days. I guess they want to make the show feel like the Office. Oh, wait, the premise of the Office is that there is a documentary film crew there shooting raw footage for an eventual documentary about working in an Office (which means the series finale of the Office damn well better be the finished documentary!) They pulled this crap in Miss Guided, it appears they are going to do it in Parks and Recreation, and also in this show. It completely takes me out of the show. It's like what the hell are they doing that for? OH, yeah, for no reason at all. It's like American sit com producers just think that's another way to get laughs, and not an actual device that had a purpose in the show that originated it.

I don't like the characters talking to the camera either. I watched the pilot because I had hopes it would be quirky and it is but in a bad way. I didn't find it all the funny and I couldn't get invested in the characters. The main actor and Ellen's wife, Portia, are good though.

Re: Is anyone watching "Better Off Ted"?
I agree. I liked Portia de Rossi 'interacting' with the kid in the most recent episode. There were some nice moments that made me think back to her in Arrested Development.
The show feels kind of cheap, though. After pushing the love story so hard, the father's convenient reasoning behind pulling out of it might as well have had one of the writers walk in front of the screen and say, "Sorry, we need to stretch this out for a few seasons." It's not that it's bad, just that it seems so ordinary.
Still, if it stays sandwiched between Scrubs and Lost and doesn't get worse, I'll probably keep giving it chances. The premise and some of the cast make me think that it could develop if given time.

I've seen two of the episodes, and enjoyed them. It is certainly much better than some of the shit that they have been showing on other channels, most notably the terrible Kath and Kim.

I agree with that much better then Kath and Kim. I hate thursday nights because I like Earl, hate Kath and Kim, like The Office, and am one of the few people in america that does not like 30 Rock.

I'm surprised Dave Chappelle didn't ever do a sketch on his old show based on that kind of premise. It was a very funny and politically incorrect concept

That was dare I say great at least the racist sensors story. Ted's B-story wasn't quite that funny. But I do like when sitcoms don't force story lines to be funny.

I loved Lem's "hey...sense me" line.
That was a very well-constructed episode. I enjoyed watching the situation get worse and worse every time the company tried to correct the problem.
