Re: Smallville -- "Eternal" -- 4/2/09
I hated this episode. Ever since they took Brainniac out of Chloe it seems they took a huge chunk of her own brain as well, leaving her borderline retarded.
This episode annoyed me so much that I was pissed over how it wouldn't end. The only thing I liked was how they re-imagined the cave paintings of season one (or was that two?) and getting to see Ma and Pa Kent again (even if it was just recycled footage).
And did that basement have a lock on the inside for the sole purpose of that final shot?

I thought Chloe kind of evolved at the end of the last episode in taking over the Watchtower again. Now in this episode its like she did a complete 180 and is back to making dumb decisions. I know I shouldn't be suprised but still...

Sucky episode. So Lionel wrote this diary and he couldn't figure out that there were 2 Kryptonians? You'd think when the guy in the limo who dropped Davis off didn't return, he'd think something was amiss. I hate this Doomsday arc.
And no Lois.

These things have to be out of order. Last week she quit the paper to work with the JLA, this week she's hanging out at the paper drinking coffee.

Ok episode .... but it made me realize how much John Schneider, Annette O'Toole and John Glover added to those earlier seasons.

Definitely agree about how much the Kents and and Lionel added to the show. I do think Lionel ran his course, but the Kents we're always a welcome addition.
Great episode. I like the Judas angle of the Doomsday plot, they just need to get this battle over with already. I suspect it will be the finale so hopefully that leads to Clark flying next season.
What's so messed up about the 'no flight' thing is that they don't even have to show it after a few episodes. How many times do they actually show Clark running? He does his disappearing act and then he's at his destination. It would be no different if he flew. Dude's gonna be in his mid 30's before he takes off.
I didn't think Chloe was all that bad this episode. After all she's looking out for Clark, putting her own safety second.
What the hell was in the case that Tess opened up?

Pretty good episode. Tess is interesting how she's approaching Clark versus the way Lex did. Even though she uses the tools Lex gave her I feel like her motives are more genuine - although I suppose Lex's were as the beginning as well.
I really feel like that Davis reveal was too soon. I was really hoping to see Doomsday punch his way out of the coffin and 6ft of dirt for 3 weeks.
4 more left?

So they planned on this being their last season but now all of sudden that they did get picked up for another season they just changed their minds. Did they think they wouldn't get picked up, haven't they always been pretty high ranked when it comes to shows on the CW.
I just thought that much of the cast wanted to move on so they were just going to wrap things up.
