Is this one, if not the only, show to end with a whole different cast than it started with?

I think they counted Noah Wylie for this season's cast (in the retro intro segment), and he was there in season 1.

I was thinking Sam was going to get killed in her new Mustang by getting hit from an ambulance trying to get to the ER.

That's funny, because I had the exact same thought. There was an odd tension that made me think the car was gonna blow up, or she was gonna get hit from behind, or something equally strange!

I had not watched the show in years and was rather distressed to see that Yvette Freeman had gained back all the weight she had lost some years ago. I stopped watching right around the first time she had dropped the weight and was impressed.

I was hoping they'd treat us to the theme music one more time, and they did. Thank you for that! It was great seeing the old characters again, and it was cool how they got the same "kids" to play Rachel and Reese.
I was hoping for a more dramatic end to the show, like the hospital had to close its doors for financial reasons, it burned down, it blew up, etc. I was hoping Tony and Sam would get engaged instead of just holding hands. Dr. Brenner didn't have much to do in the finale, and his character didn't get any kind of conclusion. Same with Dr. Banfield. I was hoping she'd sign the adoption papers, but there was no mention of it.
When did they build the elevated train tracks right over the ambulance bay? They certainly weren't there when that helicopter fell on Dr. Romano.
I saw every episode of this show. It was never my favorite show, but I'll miss it.

From what I gather, the elevated train tracks are not over the ambulance bay. They are placed before the opening drive through for the ambulance bay.

Really rough drawing of the entrance area/L/etc (the geometry of the ambulance bay is wrong, but everything else is right):
The subway tracks above the street are noticeable in the scene in Union Station where Mark runs out trying to catch Susan.

I was real excited when I heard the beginning of the orignal theme. It was a really nice touch to bring it back. As well as bringing back the original actors that played the kids.

Loved it except for the Thandie Newton cameo. Ugh. Ugly Bitch. Had to FF thru her scenes with Carter. Was she that big a part of the show to warrant a cameo in the freaking finale?
Good to see Carter couldn't be kept away from working and that a new Dr. Greene is in the house. So are Susan and Kerry a lesbian couple now? LOL
I haven't watched this season except for the "Just like Old Times" ep. Did Alexis Bledel join the cast since the beginning of this season, or was it just the finale? I wouldn't have minded a couple more with her in the cast along with new Dr. Greene.

Rachel wasn't the original Rachel. There was another girl who played her as a child into the early teens. I think the show even had the "new" Rachel reshoot some old scenes with Anthony Edwards several years ago.

to Spielberg for appearing in the retrospective. But would it have killed them to have gotten a quote from Laura Ceron and Yvette Freeman, who aren't major stars but have been around forever?
