I tried watching the season premier from the previous season (14, I think) and just couldn't get into it.

I'm going to give tonight a try, and hopefully with the old faces it will be easier to get into... After watching the series for 10 years, I'd like to be part of the finale.

Re: ER - The Final 4 Episodes -- "Old Times" -- 03/12/09

I've been watching the episodes with cameos from familiar faces but that's it....
E.R. has been pretty bad since Carter left the show full time....

Actually, I think many people lost interest after Dr. Greene died!

That was when I stopped full time. It was a tough year for the show period because Eriq LaSalle left that year too. Personally, I was always a Benton fan.

I've seen about 95% of the ER episodes. I gave up at the end of last season. This season didn't start very strong at all. But ever since the Greene episode, the episodes have been SUPERB. The last couple of weeks have been reminiscent of Season 8 in my opinion. I'm really looking forward to it.

That's when I gave up. He was the heart of the show, and it just wasn't the same without him.

That was a huge blow to the show but it was still good for awhile after that IMO. Season 9 still had Carter, Lewis, Jing-Mei Chen, & Weaver plus people like Corday, Pratt, Kovac, Lockhart, & Romano (he was awesome). Amazing episode tonight & it was great to see some familiar faces.

Loved the Carter and Benton scenes.

Great to see Doug and Carol again and the scene where Doug is asking Neela and Sam if anyone he worked with is still there was nice.

Re: ER - The Final 4 Episodes -- "Old Times" -- 03/12/09

Every season has had some stand out episodes. This was a pretty good one and Clooney/Margulies weren't even the best part. I thought Sarandon did an excellent job and my favorite scenes were with Benton especially in the operating room.

I hated Weaver, Kovac & Romano for the most part.

Remember when Carter turned off his monitor last week? It showed a low heart rate, I believe. I think he may have some complications related to his heart or a transplant rejection.

I can't believe Hathaway/Ross didn't know the recipient's name of the kidney transplant (or the heart).

Solid episode tonight, just nice to revisit the classic ER characters as the show winds down.

Great episode. I'm glad Clooney finally decided to do it-- or maybe he intended to all along and was just throwing people off.

I kind of stopped watching after George Clooney left. By then Sherry Stringfield was also gone and the show lost some of it's punch with me. With that said I loved that scene too. It was kind of a nice testement to the longevity of the show as well as a "slice of life" moment - the show has been on the air so long that on the show most of the people Doug Ross worked with are gone, and in real life the show survived without him. I also liked how he didn't get super nostaligic or whatever talking about county. That's the way it is in real life. We change jobs, cities, and whatever and that's the way it is. He could have waxed poetic about his time there but it's been 10 years and he moved on. End of story.

Loved the Benton/Carter stuff. I began to think back to the first few episodes when Benton was a complete dick to Carter and was kind of tickled at the way things worked out in the end.

it would be a big downer if the show ended with Carters death.

Me, too.

I watched regularly for a while longer, then when I had the chance to watch, then only if there was nothing else to watch or do, and then that was it........

Re: ER - The Final 4 Episodes -- "Old Times" -- 03/12/09

i'm surprised all the old docs didn't just have throwaway cameos, but were actually the bulk of the ep, especially Clooney.

but, not tying Ross/Hathaway to the liver for Carter was just stupid/lazy (they probably just didn't want to write extra scenes with all 4 of them together or even a call by R/H to him or something, but for them not to know who it was for at all?). and when Ross named all the docs he knew except Carter was just stupid imo.
