Sweet Jesus, that clip is just what I wanted it to be. I now have to watch, what, 5 seasons of CYE to prep for these episodes? I've heard what a great show it is, but I haven't yet bit the DVD bullet yet.

6 seasons actually. Do it and then when you are done you have the new season on your DVR ready to watch without having to wait a week between episodes

DO IT! If you like Seinfeld, you'll love Curb.

If I have the basic gist of Curb, should that be enough for me to enjoy these Seinfeld episodes without watching the previous seasons?

Maybe, but in all honesty its worth watching all six seasons in my opinion. The show is really just as good as Seinfeld and if you were a fan of that I would think you'd have a high chance of liking Curb just as much. Its pretty much the best comedy show to air in my opinion except for maybe Arrested Development since Seinfeld ended.

I've found that not all Seinfeld fans love Curb the way us Larry David fans do. Some people are just too used to having a "laugh track" to tell them when to laugh. But I agree, I don't know how someone could like Seinfeld and not Curb.

Larry David (and I think all comedians to some extent) are merely telling the truth, which is to say "their truth", which I think this is wonderful. It allows him to get stuff off his chest, and laugh a helluva lot in the process.

i loved Seinfeld, but never got into Curb. will give this season a shot though.

if you have HBO ---> they have been running a making-of "The History of Curb Your Enthusiasm Even Further" of sorts for the first season with the entire cast of Seinfeld, seeing the re-creation of the Seinfeld sets and Larry's input in how it should be updated. pretty good kick-off special for the upcoming season.

I watched that. It was pretty fun. I never really got into Curb, but I'll definitely watch it this year.

I think some non-Curb fans could be disappointed. Are we sure that the Seinfeld cast is going to be on all season long? It could be only one episode right?

I'm pretty sure the Seinfeld reunion is the season long plot, much like the Broadway play and then restaurant plots in the past.
