Re: So...Late Night with Jimmy Fallon starts tonight.

This would have been much better having Fallon host as Barry Gibb

Re: So...Late Night with Jimmy Fallon starts tonight.

They should have checked with Timberlake to see if he wanted to host

Jimmy Fallon is a piss poor interviewer. I guess this show will be nothing but impressions of other people.

Re: So...Late Night with Jimmy Fallon starts tonight.

I really am not that familiar will Fallon (missed most of his SNL stuff), so I didn't know what to expect, but I am underwhelmed with his first outing.

He should have skipped the lick it thing and instead have a couple of actors leg wrestle (that's a reference to Conan's first ep if you've never seen it).

Was even worse than I was expecting. All this shows is that timberlake would dominate if he had a late night show, any time slot

Re: So...Late Night with Jimmy Fallon starts tonight.

I didn't think it was that bad. The Roots are awesome, and Fallon is a funny guy. He just seemed a little nervous/unorganized. And DeNiro didn't help.

Whats with all the fucking product placement shout outs on this show? Bud Light and all the companies Fallon said at the end?

Who's on next week -- Joaquin Phoenix?

Loved the Conan opening. Jay's not leaving.

Re: So...Late Night with Jimmy Fallon starts tonight.

Seriously, its like you have to hate him cause he was in a crappy lip-syncin' boy band, but the guy has all the talent in the world and can do pretty much everything.

He'd destory Conan and Letterman if ABC put him on in that time slot.

Re: So...Late Night with Jimmy Fallon starts tonight.

The slow jam news wasn't bad (thanks to The Roots more than Fallon), and Timberlake was good as usual. But everything else needs major work. For someone who has done extensive time on live shows, its odd to see even his rehearsed bits come off so awkwardly. And pairing a green host with a notoriously difficult guest like DeNiro was just a disaster waiting to happen. The lowest point was the licking game. It's like they stumbled upon a file filled with Letterman's rejected ideas from 1983 or something.

Re: So...Late Night with Jimmy Fallon starts tonight.

And tomorrow night... Joaquin Pheonix... Or he may have to break out his guitar and play some Valentines Day, St Patty's Day, Christmas and Olympic Songs.

Looks like Conan will not be asked to leave by a certain date (like Leno)

Folks do need to give him a little time... but it ain't lookin' too good.

Conan got off to a shaky start too. But that being said, I still can't stand Fallon.

Re: So...Late Night with Jimmy Fallon starts tonight.

I think people have to be patient.

He is not arrogant or a unlikable prick like David Letterman so he should be given a fair shot.

Girls like him and will laugh at any of his material so he has an advantage there.

I don't think anybody in late night has a good monologue except Leno and he sometimes bombs.

I think Fallon will probably find his niche and work out the kinks within 2 years and it will be a decent show.

What do you mean Conan will not be asked to leave.
Leno wasn't asked to leave before his run started.
So I don't understand why you brought that up.

What!?! IMO Letterman is a likeable guy - he came off as a prick for years, but in the last decade, I don't think that description fits at all...Letterman rocks.

I thought Fallon was way too nervous and it's pretty sad when 50% of the bits/jokes on your first episode, which you've had MONTHS to write, TANK. TANK HARD. If this is the best they can come up with when they aren't working under the gun, I worry for the future when they don't have a lot of time to plan out shit... Slow Jammin' The News was decent and has potential to be really great, plus Timberlake killed as usual... the rest was just a huge 'meh'. I'll still be tuning in to see if Fallon gets better, but he gets too tongue tied etc. which he has always done...

Re: So...Late Night with Jimmy Fallon starts tonight.

Space Train was horrible, lick it for $10 was stupid too but I'll tune in for the first week. Hope it gets better otherwise Late Night w/someone else will be in the future.
