Obama at it again - February 24th TV Changes

Normally they call it a State of the Union address.

But in the first time of a newly inaugurated President, the annual assessment and unveiling of an agenda gets the more sedate title, "Address to Congress" (ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox, CNN, Fox News, MSNBC, CNBC, 9 p.m.).

President Barack Obama will set out the grim news on most of the broadcast networks and cable news outlets. Schedules have been altered accordingly. Most significantly, it moves the two hour performance episode of "American Idol" to Wednesday, with results on Thursday. Also, "The Biggest Loser: Couples" (NBC, 8 p.m.) will still be two hours this week, but the second hour will instead be shown on Wednesday, in place of "Knight Rider."

Some of the issues in the speech may be raised by the movies "Taking Chance" (HBO, 8 p.m.) and "Sicko" (Showtime, 6:45 p.m.) and it will be analyzed as if it were "Roshomon" (TCM, 10 p.m.).

Opposite Obama's address will be "Black to the Future" (VH1, 9 p.m.), "Dogg After Dark" (MTV, 9 p.m.), "Ultimate Knockouts" (Spike, 9 p.m.) and the early season finale for "Privileged" (The CW, 9 p.m.). A season finale too comes for "Leverage" (TNT, 10 p.m.).

If you want an hour about a good con, I would avoid the real life con of the Address to Congress, and go with Leverage!

I'm taking the TV timeout to spend my night on videogames.

Me too. These weekly Obama ads have been great for catching up on other shows and video games.

I guess I'll watch "Privileged" live instead of on tape.
