Oh I know the song quite well. I think they were just trying to be quirky and offbeat which works for them most of the time. Didn't work last week.

Was it THE Eisenhower mug? I thought I saw an interview with Conan and he said that mug has been on every desk he's ever worked on and it would be going to the Tonight Show.

Don't get me wrong, I'm sure it was one he used on the show, but they have quite a few spares that they bought because they break once in a while.

My point was that the blue mugs are truly unique (~15 made) and I would have expected to go much higher than the Eisenhower much. If one wanted to purchase one of the Eisenhower mugs (not ones from the show) you could potentially find them.

I enjoyed his last show. It really made me regret not making more of a point to watch Conan over the last few years. I think I'll be setting the DVR for his show every night come June.

I'd never seen the old time baseball clip before. That was hilarious.

The White Stripes are one of my favorite bands. They're Conan's favorite band. Their performance on his finale was incredibly disappointing. You can tell they haven't played together for 2 years. Whenever you could see, at the beginning of the show, two acoustic guitars set up and no drums, I immediately thought "uh oh."

the worst part is we'll never get to see the best skit in the history of the show now. Max on Max. :(

Havent seen/heard it mentioned, but is Joel Godard going to LA? And will he be taking his male Asian prostitute?

I hope Joel Goes. It really stood out for me that he wasn't really featured in the finale...or did I miss something?

Wow. Not that the wiki is always right, but I didn't think he would go. In two of the last batch of shows Conan specifically talked about Joel and how he originally was just going to be the announcer but then was such a hit on the skits. Plus, like you said, he's getting up there in age. The other thing was that Conan made a point to mention that The Max Weinberg 7 were going, you would have thought he would have mentioned Joel at the same time.

I love Joel, I hope it's true that he's going too.

One other thought - they never brought back the petition tracker. Conan said if they get 1% of New Yorkers to sign a petition to have conan stay, he would stay. The only day they showed it, he was at .0009%. I thought that was going to be a recurring thing those last eps.

Andy Richter to be the announcer for The Tonight Show

Talk about coming out of left field on this one!

From the AP:

LOS ANGELES – NBC says Andy Richter and Conan O'Brien will be back together again on late-night TV.

Richter, who worked with O'Brien for seven years on NBC's "Late Night," will become the "Tonight" show announcer when O'Brien takes over from Jay Leno as host in June. NBC said Richter also will take part in comedy bits.

O'Brien called Richter a friend and one of the funniest people he knows, but couldn't resist a joke: O'Brien said he's looking forward to their reunion because Richter owes him $300.

After leaving "Late Night" in 2000, Richter starred in the TV series "Andy Richter Controls the Universe" and "Andy Barker, P.I.," and appeared in "Talladega Nights," "Blades of Glory" and other movies.
I'm not quite sure how I feel about this. I'll have to let it sink in a bit.

Wow. Didn't see that coming.

I missed most of the early late night stuff that included Andy (only caught eps sporadically), so I don't really have a sense of their chemistry. If he goes into sidekick mode again, I am afraid it could be a step backward for Conan, who can certainly stand on his own two feet.

Conan was very good after Andy left, but never as good as he was when Andy was there. This is a move in the right direction for The Tonight Show.
