So how is this show doing in the ratings department? Is it likely to get a second season? I'm interested in picking it up but dont want to bother if its just gonna get cancelled.

I've been enjoying the show a lot more since it's come back from hiatus. It's starting to feel like it's own show instead of a carbon copy of the original (with American overtones).

This has gone from an enjoyable show to a "must-see" for me - this week was one of the best so far!

Agreed. They've gone to plots that didn't come out of the British show and, more importantly, several of the lead characters are being developed and defined differently from their British counterparts, most notably Imperioli's Ray Carling, who is becoming a far more dynamic force in the American version than the British one was in the original. Hopefully, ABC will see enough positive movement in the ratings and demographics to give the show a chance to develop and gain more of an audience.

this is easily the best new show this year. great episode.

Finally watched this last night. This and the hospital episode were the two best episodes so far imho.
