Re: TV Talk's The LOST Game

Paid Bets:

{056} Widmore is revealed to be Faraday's father. (9:1) $35 = $315
{071} During an episode, (aside from what the title of the episode is) no reference to "Star Wars" is made. (3:1) $5,000 = $15,000
{089} We are told that Charles Widmore is Faraday's father. (3:1) $90,000 = $270,000

$285,315 + $20,000 = $305,315

Bets This Week:

{092} The words "incident" or "accident" are used. (4:1) $295,000

Previous bets still active:

Spoiler:

{044} Someone loses a limb. (8:1) $2,000
{046} A polar bear or polar bear skeleton is shown. (5:1) $1,000

Re: TV Talk's The LOST Game

How about this one:

{098} An episode contains scenes in the Other camps, Locke's present-time camp, the beach, the Dharma village, and the jungle of the island. (These are not necessarily mutually exclusive.) (4:1)

You had Richard with ship in the bottle for the Other camp, Dharma village with Sawyer, the jungle when Locke was shot, the beach at the end...the only thing is Locke's present-time camp. Does that mean the Ajira camp? If so, I guess that wasn't shown to my knowledge, but TECHNICALLY, I thought Locke's present-time and the Others were synonymous when I first read it, since Locke's present camp is kinda dependent on where he is at the moment.

If this one doesn't pay out, do they have two hours next week to fill it or does it have to happen all within one of the two hours? It should be interesting to see how the game is played next week IRT bets like that, and the number of bets we will have to wager on, since we're ACTUALLY betting on TWO episodes, not one. If only we had a one hour break in between eps so we could place another round of wagers!

Also, when did we see the Dharma vans? If they were there, I think I missed them, but I wasn't looking, either, because I was distracted by how badass this episode was.

I was a bit disappointed by the Richard-centric episode. What the hell? Where were his flashbacks? Just to the seventies? A lot more has happened to him than just the seventies, you know! I was hoping my Richard off-island bet was going to pay...

But, other than that, tonight's episode was AWESOME. Loved it.

I am curious how this will play with Walt's vision...Walt said there were a bunch of people around John who were pissed at him. I wonder if that's going to be the Ajira crowd or the Others...? I also wonder if Locke will be killed in this finale. Again. He'd be the Nathan Petrelli of this show.

Any changes you'd like to see? What about a system of betting where you can only bank on, say, x predictions (out of 10) and they are worth a flat amount: $100 or $50 or $200. That may make it a bit more competitive. It would also make keeping track of this a bit easier as you don't have to calculate what each person put in, just a Y/N.
I don't know for sure about what to do with points starting next season. But I do agree we need to reset. I kind of liked your 1/2 or 1/4 total points idea. Makes it a lot riskier to bet on certain things, but a lot of people seem to be putting all eggs into few baskets anyway. I also liked Raul3's idea of bets being just for that episode. People would have to play a bit more conservative and it would give incentive to bank some cash away rather than put it all on the line every week. This could also cause HUGE swings in total points in play, as one bad call could ruin someone.

I also think it would be nice if there was something to win.

Do you think we could talk to some moderators and maybe get a special title or something for the winner until the next round starts? Or maybe a little island logo or Locke head where the premium member TopHat is located.

I don't know, spitballing.

Re: TV Talk's The LOST Game

Wow! a lot of people bet on {100}, that's a Lost staple, so we will see if they do it for the season finale.
I'm actually fucked up, my 2 big bets are {100} and the one about Sun and Jin reuniting, yesterday when Richard said that he saw all of them die I almost died there too

And yeah, {98} may be the only one. But I'm not sure about Locke's in present day camp and in the jungle. Mainly Locke's present day camp, that can only be the Ajira camp, what else can it be?

By the way {98} was worded I assumed it meant present-day Other camp, since we know he left the Ajira survivors on their own. And what reason would he have to go back to them. They're not his people.

I've been waiting for the damn eye close up bet to pay out.

Two vans appeared on security monitors in the background during Sawyers interrogation.

Guys, that bet paid off. Sorry I wasn't clear but I meant the Other/Hostile camp (which we were shown) and whatever camp Locke had. That one paid.

When Sawyer was subjected to enhanced interrogation, they played the video of Kate and Sawyer at the fence with wounded young Ben. The shot was of Kate picking Ben out of the van.

It was one of those blink and you miss it moments.

They were also in the shot where people were being evacuated to the sub. Young Charlotte got off one.

Just to be clear, all bets cease to count after the season finale. I think since the finale is two hours I might have 20 bets for next week. I've gotten some suggestions, but any others would be welcome.

Damn, you changed the rules to end the season. No matter, I'm looking forward to a fresh start. But I specifically bet on things that typically happen in season openers (close-up of an eye, episode begins with music).

Updated the spreadsheet with {92} and {98} being winners. As usual, check my math for errors.
