you could say that about 99% of actors.

Re: Katherine Heigl Quits Grey's Anatomy
I pretty much just saw 27 Dresses and The Ugly Truth because of her, I must admit it. She's not the greatest actress in the world based on what we've seen so far, but she has screen presence to burn and has pretty much established herself as a movie star *before* leaving the show. I doubt she's going to be broke, on the street and struggling to get a gig in a porno movie anytime soon.

I don't know about that large of a percentage.
Sure there are plenty of actors out there that are pretty much interchangable, but there are also plenty of bankable "put asses in the seats" actors and she isn't one of them in my opinion.
I know onebyone just said she was the reason for seeing those 2 movies, but I seriously doubt THAT many people feel that way about her. I doubt Knocked Up was a popular movie because of her. It was more to do Apatow and Rogen most likely.

I'm sure there are alot of Movie Stars that wished they sucked as much.
Her last 3 movies total made over 3x the amount in the USA they cost to make, not counting International. Then, if you add DVD/Blu-Ray, the amount she is making personally and for the studios as a movie star is out of this world.
I am not a big fan of hers, saw 2 movies of hers on Blu-Ray, but none in the theater. She was very good in "Knocked Up" and OK in "27 Dresses".
Lets see how many movies she will be in when she is over 35, about the time Hollywood drops like a brick balloon.
I wish her well in whatever she does, as I do for all who post on this board.

Her character on Grey's is just so annoying. But think about it, as much as I hate Izzie, as much as I have a distaste for some of the things Heigl has done herself, she can't do anything aside from act out what is written for her. That said, I think the writers may have intentionally sent her character down this road. As it was suggested earlier, they should have just ended things when George was given his send off. (Whether via the tumor or something else.)
I wasn't as crazy about Knocked Up as it seems many were. 27 Dresses was actually a pretty decent movie. (Or maybe it was just because of the rotation of movies that night.) But, provided she can tone down all the other drama (or maybe in spite of it), she should be OK with movies in the short term. However, if she gets one or two bad films (or at least films that perform poorly at the box office), I can easily see network TV trying to lure her back as the lead star in some new vehicle before 3 years are out.

That may be so, but it doesn't make her any less a movie star.
Look, she may be a bitch, she may be a horrible actress, she may be horribly overpaid, but the fact is she's had starring roles in 3 movies and all 3 did very well at the box office. Say what you like about her, but she's already proven that her career is going to take a different path from David Caruso's.

I will never understand the mentality of actors, if you hate the tv shows or movies you have done. Why the hell are you in them?

Re: Katherine Heigl Quits Grey's Anatomy
I really didn't like Knocked Up, thanks to her character, and I outright loathed The Ugly Truth (wrote a review, but DVDTalk wasn't sent the DVD, so I never had a chance to use it -- it figures that the one review I'd prepare for by writing up in advance would end up being useless).
I really, really, really hope the Heigl/Kutcher film Killers is a huge bomb. Which it looks like it will be, since audiences will have The Bounty Hunter come first and Knight and Day on the way afterwards.

Since it's normally the director who makes the final decision on which takes are used, which scenes are cut, etc., it's not like most actors know exactly what a movie will look like until it's finished. But if an actor chronically complains about everything they've done, then it's probably more than what I just described.

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ Ya gotta eat, ya know? I imagine that every actor has done a good number of things that they aren't proud of and didn't like. I don't think necessarily that makes it ok to come out and complain about it, gotta watch the feet you step on, but I think that's the jist of the mentality behind doing shows or movies you don't like.
