Producers always do that crap...just like Mulder and Scully are never getting together; Bones and Booth; Clark and Lana...its all bullshit, they all eventually are getting together.
They just SAY that so people get in an uproar and then demand to see their couple get hooked up. Good for ratings and publicity. Then, the couple gets together and everyone's like, "Oh. Yeah. This sucks."
Anyway, Peter should be throwing himself at higher-quality tail. The only way Olivia would be in any way, shape or form even remotely attractive to me is if, ironically, she had some type of foreign accent.

I loves me some Fringe...
And I take offense to the fact that this thread is not as long or longer than the Lost thread. Both shows have the sci-fi 'geek' element that I so enjoy.

I have never once watched "Lost" and I've never once regretted not watching.

Fox moves 'Fringe' to Vancouver
Lost tax incentives sends show packing
By SAM THIELMAN
After spending weeks on tenterhooks over the status of New York’s endangered production tax credit, Fox has decided to pull up stakes and relocate production of its hit frosh series “Fringe” to Vancouver.
The show, which reportedly spent $4 million an episode in recession-pummeled New York, originally relocated from Toronto to Long Island’s Silvercup Studios specifically to take advantage of the Empire State’s much-publicized incentives. It applied too late, unfortunately. The $515 million set aside to expand the popular tax program and extend it into 2013 had dried up by the beginning of this year.
J.J. Abrams’ latest sci-fi action show overcame an underperforming first episode to become a breakout hit, earning a full season of episodes in October, when it ranked No. 1 among new shows in auds 18-49. The skein has continued to pull in viewers, and a second season is highly likely.
“In this challenging and uncertain economic environment, we have made the very difficult decision to move the production of ‘Fringe’ from New York to Canada in the event the series is renewed for a second season,” said a Warner Bros. Television spokesman. “We are deeply indebted to the talented New York production crew that helped bring the first season of ‘Fringe’ to life, and we thank them for their invaluable contributions to the show’s success.”
Silvercup prexy Stuart Suna said he had heard rumblings that the globetrotting show was considering a departure. “The funny thing is that the show’s set in Boston, and Massachusetts has a tax credit. But the exchange rate has gotten better for shows shot in Canada,” Suna said.
Series stars Anna Torv and Joshua Jackson; the latter hails from Vancouver.
Suna, in concert with other studio heads and the rest of the New York Production Alliance, is organizing letter-writing and protest campaigns to raise awareness about the amount of money the state stands to lose if the tax credit disappears permanently.
“I think the chances (of seeing the credit replenished) are very good, because the data is good,” said NYPA head John Johnston. “If we were talking about something that hasn’t been tried out or something that hadn’t been implemented in other states, it would be a different case.”
NYPA member groups, including local below-the-line unions, are headed to Albany on Monday to protest, according to Johnston. “Then, all of these various organizations can speak with one voice.”

Re: Fringe -- "Ability" -- 2/10/09
Just caught this one. I thought it was one of the better episodes. I think it would have been good to come second after the break, but it's good they are littering the season with mythology versus case of the week.
I like whoever said Bell was responsible for the document. I had taken away that it was Walter that wrote it. I keep forgetting that they worked together. Is he "dead", or does the lady helping at MD keep saying he's busy?
Something I'm confused on is previously we were told there was competition. Likewise, the rouge FBI guy had said, "We're the good guys." I had taken those to mean versus other companies/competition - e.g. Massive Dynamics. However, is it now possible or perhaps assumed, that they are all on the "good" side versus this alternate reality?
Interesting theory that it wasn't Olivia, but rather Peter. What if they are both recruits or agents? Be interesting if eventually they were pitted against each other.
I'd like to show to have a finite plan - perhaps 4-5 years. That way they could have these 10 tests take place over the rest of this year and next in order to setup a new direction - like them working for somebody else and then have this war/altercation/competition come to an end.
I have a feeling Walter knows more than he himself remembers.
Is anybody familiar with that ghost story of the US Navy ship and some testing experiment back in the 50s or 60s? I think it was Phili or Jersey? I think it would be neat if they could tie that in as one of those experiments that Walter and Bell were conducting, or perhaps as casualties of "war".

That's the story, anyway. Unfortunately for the legend, the ship allegedly involved in the experiment was on its shakedown cruise in the Bahamas on the date of the "incident." It was one of those myths that was mostly forgotten until it was revived by the wave of conspiracy books in the 70s and 80s.

This system was invented by a Canadian, and the British used it widely during the Second World War. British ships of the era often included such systems built-in on the upper decks (the conduits are still visible on the deck of the HMS Belfast (C35) in London). Degaussing is still used today; however, it has no effect on visible light or radar. Vallee speculates that accounts of the Engstrom’s degaussing may have been garbled in subsequent retellings, and these accounts may have influenced the story of the Philadelphia Experiment.

The so-called "Philadelphia Experiment" in October 1943. Supposedly a test of some kind of anti-radar technology caused a Navy destroyer to teleport 300 miles away. When it reappeared, some of the sailors had been killed by re-materializing between decks and others supposedly went nuts.

But you're right. It would make a killer episode of "Fringe."
