Ugh. Painful episode. Week after week of sitting thru 90 minutes of drivel, looking and hoping for ONE "laugh-out-loud" skit.

Rule of thumb, if I forget about a sketch 15 minutes after it happened it was a bad sketch. I forgot about the Madoff sketch almost instantly.

I had a feeling that even with Steve Martin this week it wouldn't be that funny...I was right.
Oh well, I can switch between this and CHEATERS. Maybe I'll get some T&A shots.
EDIT: The Angelina Jolie and David Patterson bits on WU were pretty good.

Jason Mraz sounds like music you hear when a customer service rep puts you on hold on the telephone.
The Gun was hilarious and the Seth Meyers joke where the Steelers and Cardinals will serve as the opening act for Bruce Springsteen.
Did Pepsi sponser MacGruber to make up for lost ad revenue for Super Bowl 43?
Madoff and the sketch where Wiig played the crazy wife of Steve Martin talking about balloons were the weakest sketches.
Everyone would Kill Amy Poehler if she did sketches like the target lady, penelope etc but Wiig gets away with it.
When all the females talked about their crush for Steve Martin you noticed there has been a big turnover with the female cast members.
Kristen Wiig is now the veteran and you have 3 rookies Casey Wilson (first full season?), Abby Elliot, and Michaela Watkins.
Amy Poehler, Maya Rudolph, and Rachael Dratch all gradually left the show.
Time flies by quickly and a new generation of female SNL cast members has begun.

Bizarre episode. And I guess Pepsi has made an ad campaign around MacGruder? All the "sketches" aired during breaks, outside the episode. It seems odd to build a campaign around something only a small audience would "get," but what do I know?

Did they base their sports bar characters off of these guys from the Muppets Take Manhattan?

Not much good tonight at all. The crazy woman ("Thomas! Thomas! I'm your wife! Thomas!) was annoying as hell. The Maddoff skit was endless, and even the studio audience barely reacted. Enough with the laser cats, those digital shorts are more miss than hit. And that banjo playing, talk about pompous. Is there anyone in the world who wants to hear a banjo CD? Pink Panther sucked, and PP2 will suck too.
Highlight was the edible diapers.

I was glad to see Armisen reprise Gov. Patterson, especially after the flack the show caught from the first sketch. I concluded during the sketch that after the Gillibrand appointment, the producers/writers have decided to "Palinize" Patterson to the point he has no chance to succeed in the upcoming election (not re-election) for Governor, which for me means more great goofing on his disability.

Global TV here in Canada didn't show ANY MacGrubers - we had a few instances where there was just a black screen for 20 seconds or the SNL photo lasted about 30 seconds so I thought something was up.... BUT, regardless - THIS WAS THE WORST EPISODE OF SNL I THINK I HAVE EVER SEEN...EVER.
The Gun was the ONLY funny part... just horrible. Between THIS, Pink Panther 2 and that horrid banjo song, Steve Martin is pretty much dead to me now... which is a damn shame because 'The Jerk', 'LA Story' and 'Bowfinger' are easily in my top 20 comedies ever. And to think after reading 'Born Standing Up' and his appearance on 30 Rock, I was hoping for a return to form. BOO.

Except for the MacGruber commercials, Chewable Pampers, and some of Weekend Update, this was clearly not the best episode of SNL to watch all the way in eight years. Anyway...

Kristen Wiig is really getting on my nerves all her characters are the same. How long before they pick a replacement for Amy on weekend update.

At this point it seems likely that they will replace Amy on Update with Wiig playing a different annoying character each week.

I think the only laugh from me was when he grabbed Wiig's boobs and made a reference to the SAG awards.

Another poor ass episode:
Kristin Wiig has just become a lady that does funny voices, all of which sound the same and are never funny.
That Madoff sketch was quite possibly the worst SNL sketch of this decade. The audience didn't even feel compelled to courtesy laugh.
Steve Martin's song didn't work either as a children's song or comedy.
I normally enjoy the Magruber sketches, but the Pepsi thing threw off the rhythm of the entire show.
The lone bright spots remain Armisen (whose Patterson is brilliant) and the woefully underused Casey Wilson (the writers seem clueless about what to do with her). Instead of losing the cast, it's time to blow up the writers room and bring in a new staff.
The musical guest was a tool.

Bring back the masturbating bear with the KISS shirt from Bear City.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HsxcfdDa3g4
there was one joke with the Patterson sketch referring to Forrest Gump.
"If I wanted to see a retard sitting on a bench I could go to New Jersey"
I hope Tom Hanks does a show before the season ended so he can beat Steve Martin.
I thought the last time he hosted was in 2000 but he did a show in 2006 which was surprising since I don't remember it.

The MacGruber "sketches" were actually commercials and they were better than 95% of what's actually on the show.
I lol'd at the binoculars by Gov. Patterson. At least SNL still has the balls to "go there."
Bradley Cooper had a good guest starring spot on Nip/Tuck playing an actor on a fictional plastic surgery drama (on a fictional plastic surgery drama).
Steve Martin hasn't been funny for a LONG time.
