Damages -- "Hey! Mr. Pibb" -- 1/28/09

Damages 2

Synopsis:

Spoiler:

While Patty works to clear Daniel Purcell (William Hurt) of his wife's murder, Ellen and Tom head to West Virginia to gather information in the case against Ultima National Resources.

So far through 2 episodes I'm really liking season 2. Purcell is a really fascinating character.

Really enjoying this season so far...so many twists and turns (hopefully they don't over do it too much) and the cast is fucking stellar. Can't wait.

Agree! Minus William Hurt. Don't like him very much. But otherwise, great!

That was a great last 5 minutes.

I don't know if it was the writing or the actor, but Darrell Hammond's character was awful.

I am so confused. This show has more time travel than Heroes does. Think i am gonna need to sit down and watch it on dvd to fully appreciate it.

Patty finally arranges for Purcell to meet his son, and he in turn smacks her in court!

Damn that hour was good...and the previews for next week weren't bad either.

Until the flashback, I got a David Lynchian vibe in both the scenes with Sutry and inside man in prison. (But yes, why the hell did they choose Darrell Hammond????)

Very good episode. But....... would Patty really be so stupid as to give Purcell the water sample to test himself and not use an independent and reputable lab?

Season 2 Episode 4 of a legal drama and this was the first time they took us inside a court room... kinda crazy.

I thought the same thing.

I don't think I've ever watched a tv series with more twists and turns. Great stuff.

I believe they showed Ellen's arraignment in court last season when her parents came to visit.

Okay wait....

So Purcell was in on his wife murder willingly or forced?

And he threw his testimonty and destroyed the sample because he was paid? He wanted money the whole time?

It the first time this show has confused me and didnt make sense. Also, whats up with Olyphant being gone the past 2 eps.

I'm pretty sure he was in on it willingly and was definitely looking for some kind of payday.

I watched a NY Times conversation (shown in NYC on Time Warner Cable Channel 75) with several cast members and the creator/writers of Damages, and they said one of their objectives was to create a legal show that stayed out of the courtroom - so I expect they will be few and far between.

Great finish to the first arc of the season, seems like it could/should really hit the fan in the next few weeks.
