Re: Anyone else excited about CHUCK in 3-D?!?!?!

Polarized (clear) glasses from theatrical screenings will NOT work.

Anaglyph (red/cyan) glasses from comic books or various DVDs will NOT work.

You have to have the yellow/blue glasses (ColorCode) for this broadcast. Luckily I have some that were packaged with some Region 2 DVDs (such as GHOSTS OF THE ABYSS) so I am set.

My supermarket had giant bins full of the glasses at the entrance, near a Pepsi and Sobe Water display. They are distrubtiing millions of these things, so it shouldn't be that hard to find them.

If you’re desperate, you can get them at EBay, just search for “3d glasses superbowl”, although it may not get to you in time.

Also, my Target store has them now (no need to wait until 2/1), maybe yours will too.
where in the store are they?

They had them close to the entrance at my Safeway near a Pepsi display. La Plata MD location.

People near where I live does not seem to care. The two local supermarkets that I went to last week (Albertsons and Stater Brothers) both still have nearly a full box of the 3D gleasses.

But this should be an interesting exprience...

I'll have to take a look at what I've got at home. Each "sheet" of this thing contains 4 pairs of 3-D glasses. If I've got two sheets at home, then I could send you a couple of pairs. If not, I'll need to pick up some more.

The real issue is whether you would get it in time if the glasses is snail mailed out Thursday or Friday. I live in CA, and I believe it'll take at least 2 to 3 days to get them anywhere else.

Re: Anyone else excited about CHUCK in 3-D?!?!?!

To be fair, no one has to watch Chuck live and the only thing during the Super Bowl is a commercial, so I don't see getting them late being a big problem.

Are you being facetious or are you serious? The main promotion is the Monsters vs. Aliens commercial. Chuck is a bonus promo.

I called the number in the link above: 1-800-646-2904 and the lady wasn't positive I would get them given that the SuperBowl is in a few days. She took my info down all the same. I don't care if I get them late. As much as it will pain me, I can wait to watch Chuck.

If you have the glasses and want to check out some examples before the Superbowl, you can go here:

Couldn't you just record it and watch it later when you get the glasses?

According to the Chuck website, Target should have them on 1/31 (see below).

Look for them in the soda/water aisle of the grocery area.

The event is sponsered by SoBe Water & Pepsi.

I happened to find them at my Cub foods in Minnesota yesterday by the water (Cub is a Supervalu company). The display wasn't as big as I thought it would be, at least at my location. Just a standing box about waist high.

From the NBC/Chuck website:

Don't "chuck" those Super Bowl 3D glasses:
Chuck returns with a 3D episode on February 2nd at 8/7c
Super Bowl viewers who pick up a pair of free 3D glasses to see the first all-3D commercial break running in Super Bowl XLIII on NBC will want to hang on to them to watch an all-3D episode of Chuck premiering the next night.
The 3D episode, "Chuck vs. the Third Dimension," debuts Monday February 2nd at 8/7c on NBC and will feature a special guest appearance by NBC Sports analyst and Super Bowl champion Jerome Bettis. The episode has been specially produced to take advantage of the same cutting edge 3D technology being used for the Super Bowl promotions. Watch a preview.
And in an online first, viewers can use the same glasses to watch the episode in 3D at NBC.com starting February 3rd. The site will also offer a non-3D version of the episode for online viewing.
Intel has produced over 125 million pairs of the 3D glasses, which are being distributed by PepsiCo through the SoBe Lifewater brand. The glasses are available at 25,000 SoBe Lifewater retail displays and are FREE to consumers. Some of the retail locations include:
Kroger
Ralph's
Frys
Safeway/Vons
Supervalu
Food Lion
A & P
Pathmark
Coburns
Fresh Brands
Hy Vee
Nash Finch
Roundy's
Winn Dixie
K-Mart
Dollar General
Hess (select stores)
CVS (select geographies)
Meijer (on 1/31)
Target (on 1/31)
Should a display's supply of glasses run out or if a retailer near you does not carry the glasses, consumers can call 1-800-646-2904 to obtain a pair for free.

Perhaps I'll try Target then. I went by Safeway today and they had no clue what I was even talking about.

Anyone who's found the glasses -- are these the sort of things that will totally suck for those of us who wear real glasses?

These are pretty much the standard paper glasses with some colored plastic, so you would need to put them in front of your regular glasses. Or, you can just rip out the plastic pieces and tape them over the lens of your regular glasses.

For those in the SE I found them at Publix. The manager pointed them out walked me over and handed me like 11 sheets. So I got like 44 of them

Re: Anyone else excited about CHUCK in 3-D?!?!?!

I found these at my Shaw's supermarket today.

I made a special trip to K-Mart a couple nights ago and didn't see them there, but my local K-Mart is pretty sad even by K-Mart standards.

Hopefully they'll put the ep online because I don't want to look like an idiot wearing these things at my girlfriend's parents house.
