This sucks. I was hoping to see some closure for Eli Stone.
This is just as bad as what NBC did to Las Vegas.

This is exactly why I quit watching all three when the cancellations were announced. It was bad enough that three shows I really enjoyed got canceled..like I was going to continue watching with the fear that I might get left hanging even more so than I already was.

Fox screws over more shows, but when ABC screws over your show, it hurts worse because they really screw it over. I still hate that net over Eyes.

Well, I am just going to delete the seasons passes on my DirecTV DVR. I believe it is limited to 50 and I could use the room for other new shows that are starting up soon.

Was the cross-over between Pushing Daisies and Wonderfalls ever done? Or was it just all talk?

ABC won't schedule them because they want you to buy or rent the DVD's. That's going to be a huge selling point for all 3 shows.

BTW, Match.....All the produced Las Vegas episodes aired. NBC just chose not to film anymore to resolve the cliffhanger last season.

I think I read that Eli Stone wraps up nicely, that is, if they air the remaining episodes. The people in charge can't leave it with the last episode that aired. It's too bad not enough cared about the show. It is a fantastic show. Even Pushing Daisies was improving when they stuck to a storyline rather than go from one unsolved mystery to another. The focus was back on the characters.

I don't think it's about the DVDs. I'm not even sure each series will get a release. IIRC, there are a lot of series I'd love to have on DVD like Eyes or The Inside with unaired episodes and no DVD release.
I think it's that ABC announces the show is done, the viewership drops, and they ditch it.
They could at the very least show the episodes on ABC.com.

I forgot all about The Inside. I had to actually look it up on IMDB, but I liked that one as well.

Well played.
I think all of these series will get releases. All of them were given releases for their first season, with Pushing Daisies on Blu-ray, too. Out of the three, I think Daisies is probably the most assured of getting a DVD/Blu-ray release, but the other 2 will find a home on DVD as well.

I don't see why it's a whole different ball game. It's still about sales and return on investment. The fact that the first seasons were released shows that it has some support, and the sales could well indicate that these shows have followings. It then makes sense to release DVD versions, probably pretty stripped down, to try to get some money back.
And I think it's also relevant because if none had been given first season releases then it would be even more unlikely that a second season would be released.

As I said, it's about return on investment. If ABC thought it could make more money from October Road, they would have released it. I think all three of the shows being discussed here have enough of a following that they will get releases, with Pushing Daisies probably the most likely. I'd be surprised if they don't all wind up on DVD.

Hello, October Road. I'm betting your DVD sales weren't too good. Maye you should have sold more and made a season 2 release look more financially appealing.

ABC should strike while the iron is, well, "hot". These should come out on DVD in the next few months before viewers completly forget all about them (like they did during the Writers Strike) and they sit collecting dust on Best Buys shelves.
