Slate also had a mixed opinion. Frankly, I don't know what to feel, but do agree with the review when they call Swayze the "action hero's thinking man." It's clear he's engendered a lot of goodwill (thus the volume of posts and potential ratings) and I enjoyed the way he was mentoring his young partner which had shades of Bodhi.

As for the show, I'm not sure. Is it trying to be like The Shield in that the lead walks on both sides of the law? Is it trying to be like The Departed because Ellis Dove is both undercover both with Swayze's character and against him? Or is it basically a conventional cop show trying to be unconventional by using a few weak twists?

was interesting, but for some reason i got the "too hard to be like the Shield" vibe from it. that said, it wasn't bad. completely unrealistic and ridiculous, but what on tv isn't?
