what's the advanced scoop on this? I love Tim Roth, but I'm just not sure about the premise of this show.

You can actually pick up a sneak peak disc at Best Buy either this week or next week....
It looks really good plus I'm a huge Tim Roth fan....

I do like Tim Roth a lot, and might be willing to give it a shot for him... but how many "quirky specialist guy & his team" shows do we really need?

Is it a whole episode? If so, it's possible that the BB disc will be Lie To Me: The Complete Series the way FOX is with cancelling shows. They cancelled Girls Club after 2 episodes but let That '80s Show stay on the air for 13 episodes and renews 'Til Death for a 4th Season so you never know with FOX.

My feelings exactly. I'd rather see Roth in a serialized cable drama than a "case of the week" crime show. But I'll still check it out.

What about Kelli Williams from The Practice? She's on this as well.

I know it got a 13 episode order and will air Wednesday's after Idol, so I think it will have some decent numbers.

I just watched the pilot. I didn't like it. It's basically a CSI-ish procedural crime drama but with the body/facial language study instead of a crime lab. The major problem was I was bored with the lying stuff about a third of the way through.
One thing that really hurts this show is that it requires subtly but also clarity. There's a reason this field isn't an exact science, but the show pretends that it is. So you have actors, of varying talent, trying to mimic tells that are suppose to be subtle, but need to be exaggerated in order to be illustrative for the audience. The end result feels more like breaking down video from an actor's workshop than anything scientific.
I didn't find any of the characters compelling. Roth's character is like a cross between The Mentalist, minus the charm, and a watered down House, minus the humor.

The promos for this claim this is from the producers of "24"
I hate deceiving promos like this because Brian Grazer and David Nevins are only "In Name Only" Producers and are nothing more than suits at Imagine Entertainment. They have no direct creative involvement with 24 and I assume the same applies to this show.

I'll do what I usually do, record the pilot and see where it goes from there.
Although the previews during every FOX show I watch don't make it look too appealing.

I can't stand the know-it-all expert detective premise that has swept through television procedurals.

I think the consensus opinion (like Tim Roth, unsure about the premise) is identical to my own. However, I'm not going to judge the series by the first episode. The ads definitely show the characters to be a little too full of themselves.
Someone mentioned they hated Bones because all the quirks of the leads were amped "up to eleven" for the pilot in another thread. I think it's going to be the case with this show until they settle into a groove and we start to get distinct personalities for the various cast members.

This have to be REALLY amazing for me to watch it. I'm so sick of the 'one special ability' kind of lawyer/doctor/detective show

The previews during football turned me off. Looks so boring.
"I can see when he is lying!"
"So can this lie detector. Hook him up and get out of my office!"
End of series.

I agree, and I think these characters (including Dr. House, Peterson's character from CSI, etc.) are all just extensions and lame exaggerations of the original (and best) "know-it-all" character ever, Andre Braugher's Frank Pembleton from Homicide.

I'm a big Tim Roth fan, so I will give it a shot based off of him alone.

It looks like a generic procedural, but I will watch because of Roth and especially Kelli Williams. Loved her in The Practice and Medical Investigation....
