man, they really give them lots of free booze. That last guy was hammered. NBC did beep out the F word but missed the finger previously. Oh well. I liked both Slumdog and Benjamin so it's a toss-up as to who I wanted to win.

I wonder if they picked the runner up for best actress since it was leaked....
I thought it was beyond obvious that Anne Hathaway won?

Damn, Bollywood really is irrelevant in the good ol' U. S. of A.

The dude's quite prolific, having been in 100+ films.

Glad to see In Bruges win something... the Oscars will probably bypass it completely and it was one of my favorite films of the year.
What is up with all the Recount nominations? Did folks think it was really worthy of all of it or was this just another case of a film fitting in with Hollywood foreign press' politics and agenda?
And put me down as another person disliking "30 Crock" - It speaks to the quality on TV these days (Alec Baldwin again? Really?). It's like they use the cast to fill out the various nomination fields and then say well let's just give them the awards too...

Dustin Hoffman looked like he was pissed at Emma up there, the way he rolled his eyes looked like genuine annoyance and not just a comic reaction.
Ricky Gervais was the highlight for me, as he was the last time he was on the Emmys. He should be hosting the Oscars instead of Hugh Jackman.

BTW, Rourke dated one time Smashing Pumpkins member D'Arcy Wretzky. Who was (IMO) just a perfect looking woman. The following events were mentioned everywhere at the time. Here's one....
Taken from Tower Record's Source Magazine:
We're sure you've been wondering what D'Arcy Wretzky has been up to since her court date for possession of crack cocaine last Valentine's Day. She has been religiously attending her four drug abuse prevention classes as ordered by Cook County District Court Judge Nicholas Ford, but that doesn't mean that she's not having a little fun. The former Smashing Pumpkins bassist D'Arcy Wretzky is currently keeping company with Hollywood's plastic surgery pin-up boy, Mickey Rourke. The newish duo have been spotted around Los Angeles holding hands and window shopping on Melrose Ave. D'Arcy's pals say that the former 9˝ Weeks' star has got the actress-cum-musician (who turns 32 on May 1) hooked on plastic surgery too. She's had her beautiful heart-shaped face altered in ways that were totally unnecessary…

the screen went black for about 3 seconds during Rourkes acceptance speech.
maybe they censored it for us West Coasters.
What was up with David Duchovny correcting the pronunciation of A.R. Rahmans (composer for slumdog millionaire) name?
was he trying to be funny?
Drew Barrymore looked great.
I wish she would go back to her natural hair color.
