Does Verizon Fios carry the YES Network?

Does Verizon Fios carry the YES Network in a tier of channels or sports package? Their website stinks, and you can't any information you're looking for.

Secondly, how is Verizon Fios? Is it better than DirecTV?

Found the information very quickly on their site. The answer: it'll depend. You'll have to go back to the site and put in your zip. I saw it under the Buffalo local listings under the sports banner.

ETA: It's in the Essentials plan (if it is indeed carried in your area). $47.99/mo

In Philadelphia, I don't have it.

Yes, it's better than DirecTV. Much. But that's just my opinion.

If you don't live in the YES footprint, it won't.

Can't answer the YES question because I'm not in the NY area. As for the other question I'd have to say it depends on what you like. Obviously you're not going to get Sunday Ticket. Verizon's HD PQ can't be matched by any provider and in theory they should be able to provide more HD content without having to compress. I hate the DVR but I have a Tivo HD so that's not an issue any longer. The big negative for Fios is that at the end of the day Verizon is still a phone company and that reflected heavily in the billing and customer support areas. They can't seem to get bills correct on many occasions and the cs reps seem to still be under the impression that you need them more then they need you. Equipment pricing too me seem a little high as well.

Re: Does Verizon Fios carry the YES Network?

I am in the south Jersey/Philadelphia metropolitian area. I am probably not in the Yes Network footprint but I was wondering if they would have it in a Sports package like the Sports pack DirecTV has for $12/month.
The only packages I find on their website are for movies, spanish channels, and international channels.
I would be suprised if they didn't offer it in ANY package.

Fios is like cable, they don't offer out of area sports networks like satellite would.

I have a Verizon FIOS flyer and their sportspack is not nearly as extensive as DirecTV's. You won't get any RSNs outside those in your regional (Philly) area with FIOS.

I think I will stick with DirecTV for now it sounds like.
Now I just have to make sure the building I'll be moving into allows dishes, and my unit points to the south.

I can echo every single sentiment in the above post. The Internet service is excellent and the picture quality the best of any provider, but there are rampant billing and customer service problems.
