Re: Biggest Loser: Couples 2009 Thread
I have to admit that I feel a little sorry for Joelle. Bob totally ganged up on her last week, and it seems like he turned the whole team against her. She only thought about taking the money last week (which is understandable since she lives at home with her mom) and they all acted like she was a demon for even being tempted by it. Then this week, she didn't eat in the temptation, but her partner did, and they still all layed into her like she did something wrong. And that one woman in yellow who came in the third tried to give her a big guilt trip for winning, because she thought she "deserved" to go home because she has kids. Well, then she shouldn't have gone on a game show or she should have ate more!
I don't know, I just feel bad for Joelle because it seems like she just shuts down when people lash out at her and doesn't really know how to respond. I think she is being treated unfairly. Like this week, when the yellow woman hit a wall and couldn't work out anymore, Jillian walked with her and tried to find out what her problem is. But Bob just yells at Joelle. I think Joelle would have done much better with Jillian as her trainer, since Jillian actually tries to find out the underlying issues that cause many people to overeat.
I dislike Bob more with every season it seems.

I thought when they were all pissed because she was going home eventhough she didnt eat a fucking thing was pretty crazy, but she clearly isn't working out as hard and the show has picked her as the bad guy.
I dislike Bob as well but mainly because the guy has no clue about training movements. I do enjoy this show, but the exercises Bob has them doing are pretty much an abomination. For example, why are they training in hypertrophy when they are trying to lose weight??? Jillian is a much better trainer. Far from perfect, but eons better than Bob.

Man the producers are really trying to zero in and find a villian like they did last season with Vicki and Heba. While Joelle might be slightly lazy, she does not have the bitchy attitude of Vicki and Heba last season. But clearly, this is a ratings grab to have a "villian" as most of the contestants are fairly easygoing compared to last season.

Anyone else find it funny that Kurt Warner was on last night for the "super bowl" episode? They must have shot that weeks ago. Note that they never mentioned that Warner was playing in the super bowl. Guess they just get lucky.
Sad to see Dan get sent home, but it looks like he's still doing well.

Dave was a douche - seriously, get with the program dude (he looked no different in the clip at the end IMO) but glad to see Dan giving it a good try.... and they definitely got lucky with Kurt Warner because that was like 3 MONTHS ago...

Yep, I guess they started filming this season last August/Sept when the last season's contestants left the ranch. You can tell because the host was super pregnant at last season's live finale, and she is not that big yet.
I am really happy for Joelle.

I mean this in the most serious of ways, but what is up with Brown Team's Dad and his chest? I wonder if he has had some kind of operation or something to have it look like that.

Yeah, Dan came into the thing weighing more than Dave and now weighs less than him. Really says a lot about both of their commitment to losing weight.

Sad to see Dan gone as well, but I'm glad to see that he is giving it a shot and sticking with it. He seemed like a nice guy, but Dave just doesn't get it. He signed up for a weight loss show, and doesn't want to be there... Sad.

But her intensity!!!
I wonder if they will do the 'one eliminated contestant gets a chance to return' twist again later this season, or if that was replaced by the 'partners return after 30 days' twist. I'd love to see Carla get a second chance without the partner baggage.

The problem is, of course Carla is going to lose more... She just came back on to the show from being at where she was probably losing 1-2 lbs a week. Then comes into someone controlling food intake and exercise for 8 hours and thats going to equal a big loss. Joelle had her biggest loss the week before and maybe not going all out, but no one on the show was giving Ron shit for losing a little bit, and he should still be dropping weight like crazy. Im not sorry to see her go, but I just got tired of seeing them bitch and moan about her.

I take back my defending Joelle earlier. She is completely lazy and unrepentant about it as well. I was really sad for Karla when they did that update at the end as she tried to have a mature conversation but Joelle ended up cussing and storming off.

Anyone still watching? I guess now that Joelle has been kicked off there hasn't been any controversy.
I only would add that the dad's chest looks frightening. I've seen some frightening man boobs on this show but in this case, his is like an alien is trying to escape his chest. Nice guy though.

I'm still watching. Filipe had been a favorite, but he showed a whole new side of himself on Tuesday's show. Flipped out and ran home to mama (Bob
).
I was laughing when he said Bob cared about the people instead of the game.
Bob's the biggest game player out there!

I'm still watching but now that Mandi, the only blue player I could stand, is gone, I hate blue and am only rooting for black. Any team stupid enough to keep Ron around, the sole reason they lose the weigh ins, deserves to keep losing... also, while Jill not working with Felipe that one day was pretty bad, him and Sione are acting like a couple of bitches and the fact that Bob didn't talk to Jillian when they approached him about training with him again, is stupid. I used to like Bob but this season he has been a total dickhead...between his yelling fit and crying when he lost his fave players (that makes the newcomers feel welcome!) and now this... just a total douche.

I hope to God you're kidding. This guy is even worse that Vicky from last season. At least Vicky let everyone know she was a bitch, but Ron aka Gills, is such a big snake it's not even funny. He tries to act the nice guy and it's all about losing weight but he is the biggest gameplayer there. I was pissed with his entire "Mandy, it's your turn to go" BS this past week. Who the hell is he to say who stays and goes when he is clearly the weakest link on the Blue team? He loses the least amount of weight and is also the main reason why Blue team consistently loses challenges east week.
The Samoans are being babies. Really. I agree. I also was as surprised as Jillian when she initially thought Bob would talk them into mending fences with Jillian. It's ridiculous now that these guys can decide for themselves who to train with. If everyone did that, what difference does going blue/black make? Let's just stay with our original trainer.

There have be a lot of dramatic changes over the seasons, but the stuff that Sione and Tara are doing now is just insane. They're probably the fittest people to ever be on the show, or the fiercest competitors. One of the two. Even though they still have weight to lose, they're both already elite athletes.
Tara is just sick. She gets on my nerves a little, just because of how they edit her, but you can't take away how strong she is in the competitions. No way she's going to win though, since they'll vote her out the first chance they get.

Tara is my fave (despite almost wanting to quit) but she'll be gone ASAP... these last few weeks she has had TERRIBLE numbers and if it weren't for team weigh-ins and immunity, she'd be gone already, so I think she's got 2 weeks left tops.
