Read this on imdb
a slew of other NBC announcements that included: The Office will be have the honor of of following next year's Super Bowl.

This will be a great way to gain new viewers.

I love the Office but I wish they gave the slot to 30 Rock in an effort to get it more viewers.

I love the Office but my fondest post Super Bowl show was Wonder Years. Why don't they take a chance and try to put a new show in there?

They should give the slot to "Chuck".

The Office does not need that slot.

I'm sure it will be plenty entertaining to a have The Office do a Superbowl theme but I agree, I'd rather they do 30 Rock.

Isn't this old news? I read this in the Knight Rider re-tooled thread a while back when that show was booted from the slot.

For a show that normally gets around 8-9M viewers a week, this is great news.

I love the Office but just started watching Chuck this week and I'd have to concur.

As someone who doesn't watch the SuperBowl, I hate this because it is a pain to figure out what time to set the DVR!

For NFL, especially the Super Bowl, you will need to pad an extra 45 minutes to 1 hour.

I recall last year House got the post-Super Bowl slot and started 45 minutes late.

Yeah, I wish they'd come up with a DVR that updates their programming in real time so if a sporting event runs longer, it will record your show anyway without you having to add extra time in case it starts late. I hate having to have 2+ hours of programming stored on my DVR for a 30 minute show.

Old news in the sense of being posted in that thread 2.5 hours before this thread was created? I know the internet age has really sped up the news cycle, but I didn't think news turned "old" that fast!

According to the list DRG posted, the spinoff of The Office will also be premiering that night? That should be fun.

Well, considering ABC no longer broadcasts the Super Bowl, that would be impossible.

I believe 2010 is CBS and 2011 will be FOX and 2012 will be NBC again.

Sounds good to me. Seems like networks are just pushing shows from good to big lately with the Super Bowl slot.
