So are they burning off the remaining episodes, or pulling it immediately? The article makes it sound like the former, thankfully.
The Wonderfalls crossover was among the 13 episodes they did, right?

All 3 shows are getting their remaining produced episodes burned off. The article says they won't get the back 9, but are completing production (Daisies is already done)
I'm sure the ratings will suck even more as people will probably abandon watching them assuming their will be no resolution to their plots.

From: Rainy ass Seattle yes the weather sucks here, so do our sports teams.
Fucking shit. God damn it, I am pissed. I loved PD!!!
ABC has me on Lost and thats it!!
Real talk.
I have seriously cut my shows down over the years. You know its bad when HGTV gets more love than the big 3 (4) networks for me. Fuck TV BD is here.

I'm watching less and less network TV these days. I have a feel that in a few years, I won't be watching anything on the big 3 networks.

But they do. You should blame the horribly outdated ratings system (maybe the ratings craze in general), and the average American viewer. Remember he looooooves 'According to Jim' and 'Two and a Half Men'

So how do we get USA, TNT, FX and AMC to make programming for 5 nights a week? Then we could just let the current big 4 be all reality/Law & Order/CSI networks. But i guess 2-3 shows a year of their quality is better than the crap the networks are giving us now.

Cable doesn't earn enough ad revenue to pay for 3 hours of shows 5 nights a week.
You know it sucks that these shows failed, but it's also a sign that serialized television is a really tough sell with mainstream viewers. Also, this new attitude from some TV viewers of "I refuse to watch a new show unless it's a hit" is stupid and assinine IMO. So basically your expecting Joe Blow in Fargo, North Dakota with his Nielsen box to do all the work for you?
IMO, You all who are praising Eli Stone to death should be thankful you even got 13 more hours of it. The ratings for season 1 were nothing to write home about and I don't think the DVD was selling like hot cakes.
As for Pushing Daisies and Dirty Sexy Money, ABC blew it on these two. Not repeating them during the summer when their seasons were already cut short last year was a huge mistake in addition to shutting down their seasons early after the WGA strike.
Also, the way some of these new shows are structured makes it pretty much impossible to gain new viewers. Do you really think someone who hasn't seen episode 1 from season 1 of Pushing Daisies is going to tune into episode 5 this season out of the blue? Your not going to have any clue who these characters are. Same goes with Dirty Sexy Money.

Can't believe PD won't see an end. It's a storybook tale and it needs a happily ever after.
This is a big blow to arc based dramas. I can only hope that FNL's return to NBC in Jan is successful.

PD and DSM were 2 of my favorite shows on tv.
It seems quite a few shows I liked got nailed by the WGA strike.

This news makes my wife and I both sad. Eli Stone was such a great show with a spiritual side that is so rare these days (in a recent ep, we enjoyed the explanation why Moses never entered the Promised Land - and they got it right!). And Pushing Daisies is just the kind of show that, despite some of the corniness, makes television watching a pleasure. Both were a pleasant diversion from procedural crime shows, sitcoms, reality jokes and weepy pseudo soap operas.
We never saw DSM, so cannot comment there.

Damn about Dirty Sexy Money. I don't think I watch anything on ABC now. The shows I watch on network tv now are few and far between: The Office and ....
I don't think anything else on a consistent basis really.

From Studio Briefing
About Pushing Daisies cancellation:
... But Fuller, who also created the show, insists he isn't too upset about the move, because he has a lot of plans for the series away from the limits of TV.
He adds, "We are talking to DC Comics about doing comic books that will wrap up our storylines, and I already have a pitch for a movie ready to go.
"I'm really not feeling very boo-hoo about it. I am so proud of the show. We put together 22 really good episodes, and there is a lot to be proud of. I'm sure I'll be working with a lot of these people again, and I would love to do so."

That's like saying I'm not going to vote because my candidate probably won't win. EVERY VOTE COUNTS.
