“What is my perfect crime?
I break into Tiffany’s at midnight. Do I go for the vault? No. I go for the chandelier. It’s priceless. As I’m taking it down, a woman catches me. She tells me to stop. It’s her father’s business. She’s Tiffany. I say ‘no’. We make love all night.
In the morning the cops come and I escape in one of their uniforms. I tell her to meet me in Mexico but I go to Canada. I don’t trust her. Besides, I like the cold.
Thirty years later I get a postcard. I have a son and he’s the chief of police. – This is where the story gets interesting. – I tell Tiffany to meet me in Paris by the Trocadéro. She’s been waiting for me all these years. She’s never taken another lover. I don’t care. I don’t show up. I go to Berlin. That’s where I stash the chandelier.”

thank you. im glad someone else realizes what the writers are doing with pam and jim. there's no conflict. theres no problems between them. the writers are introducing moments where there could be conflict, but then ALWAYS shows a positive outcome. the house, her failing art school, alex, etc.

I thought her change in reaction was natural considering he was first showing her his parent's house, the master bedroom, shag carpet, clown picture. But then he walked her to the garage and she saw he had created an entire space FOR HER for painting. Set up an easel. Hung up her drawings. Then it clicked... he did this for her.
I liked the episode, but I also felt Michael was a bit too much in regards to Toby.

And Dwights story at the end...hilarious.

I'd buy it also more than likely. Some of the deleted scenes are just great. This is one of my all time favorites:

agreed. just didn't "feel" right. although i will agree when Michael saw Toby, that was pure greatness.
So what was the deal with Pam's face seeing the house? It was the face of "I made a mistake and want out of the relationship." I really do think that's where it's heading on the show because she just looked like she wanted nothing to do with it.

I don't think theres anything hidden or anything. She was just initially in shock. That's a HUGE thing that Jim did.

Makes me wonder again whether an "Extended" version of all the seasons of The Office would sell, with all the cutting room floor stuff available on the DVDs integrated into each episode. The deleted scenes, season by season, are just as funny as the episode itself -- as well as containing some good extra character development. I'd buy 'em.
Why they're not doing this I'll never understand.

Oh, and for all you Michael-haters who insist that his driving his car into the lake was totally unbelievable, I give you this:

You aren't a Michael hater if you found that scene to be horribly written. You're a hater of terrible writing.
I have no doubt people do dumb things listening to their navigation systems. They don't actually stop, have a conversation about it, and then disregard their observations. That's what was depicted. When nav systems get people in trouble, it's because they turn when told without looking or something of that nature.

yes. to me it seemed forced, like she was putting on a good face for him. glad to see that i wasn't the only person who thought that might be a possibility, though.

The scene with Michael talking to Toby and trying to show interest in his trip was pure gold.

I was surprised that the microwave storyline seemed to be dropped with no resolution. And then I went to the Deleted Scenes section at NBC.com and there was the resolution! I'm just amazed that they deleted this scene (I guess it must be one that's getting reinstated in the extended version they are broadcasting).
