Mr. Belevedere question...
Anyone find it strange he just showed up at the Owens house?
|
I've always wondered how to drop kick a jacket.

I assume they explain it in the first episode. I think they were in need of a butler or nanny since the mom was going back to work. I remember the older brother, played by Rob Stone (no idea why I remember that) was in some polka band playing drums but really wanted to be in a rock band. Anyway, he launched into some drum solo that was totally out of place and totally made episode. There was another where Wesley's friend got AIDS from a straw or something.
Also, drop-kicking a jacket is the only way I know how to make an entrance. I believe it's just dropping it onto the floor rather than hanging it up. |
I did a good portion of my last one man show (I'm a stand up comic) about Beledere and how fucked up it was.
Some things that happened: - Wesley got molested by his Boy Scout Leader - Rob Stone date raped a chick - Wesley's friend "Danny O'Neal" got AIDS (blood transfusion) and they kicked him out of school. (this episode also features one of the series greatest lines. Wesley takes over the role of Lincoln in the school play, after Danny has to step down due to the AIDS. Wesley is at lunch at says to a black kid "If you give me a bite of your cupcake, I'll free ya") - Heather and her friend kidnap an old man from an old folks home, take him to Atlantic city, and he dies. - Belvedere gets kidnapped by a crazy, Miserty type lady who ties him up and tortures him. |
I remember the Boy Scout leader one. Wesley had just gone swimming and the dude offered to dry him off. I still use that move today.
|
I'd like to contribute nothing to this thread by saying Mr. Belvedere is one of the best TV sitcoms of all time!
Didn't they pick him up hitchhiking or something? |

Are you sure your one man show is a comedy?
There was a lot of child molestation going on in sitcoms in the 1980s. I'm still disturbed by mention of the games "Neptune King of the Sea" and something called "captain towel" on the Bicycle Man episode of Diff'rent Strokes. |

Yeah, I do it with power point slides, power point makes any terrible subject instantly hilarious.

I remember one time as a kid I fell asleep during Mr. Belevedere and woke up to a screening of The Producers. Needless to say, I was confused and traumatized.

You remind me alot of Nicholas Faine.
Also in regards to Belvedere I still have a crush on Tracy Wells who played Heather. She's the reason I bought the "Mirror, Mirror" box set, that was a bad idea. |

I don't know who that is, so I'm not sure if I should be offended.

I remember the old guy in AC one - he died with a party hat on or something. He went on a winning streak , loved the idea of having 2 young women by his side etc... then everyone was laughing... one of the girls says something to him, he doesn't answer, they shake him and say "stop kidding around" and he slouches down in his chair.
Haven't seen the show in years but I thought it was hilarious. My favorite episode is the one when Belvedere sat on his own balls and fainted. |
 I now have to watch this show.
|
I should want to watch Mr. Belvedere every day.
I shouldn't have to masturbate after every episode. |

. Thanks - didn't he go on a winning streak? |
I only remember the one episode when Mr. Belvedere is trying to break the high score on a pinball game, but this kid harasses him about being fat and he loses. :D
|
I remember when Kevin was a pizza delivery boy and banged a milf. Then she brushed him off, he cried, and Brock-toon made sandwiches or something. Also the dad got to fill in for sports anchor and said we should get rid of the National Anthem before games and get it started. That was pretty terrific. And I think they had an episode with a super smart dog, and dad said he "makes Benji look like a moron."

Sounds like the writers did a lot of drugs.

Harry Elvis? Are you a former Ron and Fez producer?
Nope, I don't know who Ron and Fez are. Weirdly I don't remember Belvedere having any drugs episodes. |
Is this shit for real? I use to watch this show all the time as a kid and all I remember is Wesley singing in a play as a british shipmate or something and joking around in the background.
All these eps you guys mention, is there a way to watch em online? |
