yeah i also don't like the Michael illness angle

True, but it seems inevitable to me that
Spoiler:
Self and Agent Cleavage to die at the end, since they are presumably the only authorities that know about the secret mission. That way the Legion of Super Hairless can all go back to prison for Season 5.
