But Doakes was already the fall guy for most of Dexter's murders.

Damn, I already forgot about Doakes taking the fall for Dex in season 2. Then Miguel can take the fall for the post-Doakes Dex kills.

Another new thing Dexter did was break Harry's code by purposely killing someone who never took anyone's life (the pedophile who seemed interested in Astor).

Isn't it ironic that Dexter found, in another person, what the Ice Truck Killer (and his brother) offered him not to long ago.

seems like the same thing every season. Dexter gets away with everything and the main characters opposite dexter get killed. This is Dexter season 3 and the same thing. I'm guessing dexter season 4 and 5 will be the same thing. I would love for dexter to get caught and then for them to do a season or two of dexter the teenage years or younger years.

The problem was Dexter's brother was killing innocent people which goes against Dexter/Harry's code. And since he's a killer of innocent people, Dexter had to kill him. Miguel is VERY different than Dexter's brother (although Miguel could be going rogue soon).

Loved Angel's phone msg.

I agree that this season has been slow on action and it's not a "have to watch it that night" thing like True Blood but this is still one of the better shows on television.

I feel like it's an experimental season that is working in a lot of ways and really not working in others. The writing isn't as tight. There are a lot of plot points meandering along and you start to get caught up and then they leave off and wander to some other story so it really never keeps the focus like the other seasons. The Yuki plot has been really poorly done so far. I'm really not liking his imaginary conversations with his dad but I guess they are trying to do something other than his constant voice-overs. His "drug addiction" seems to be completely forgotten by Rita; As if he could get over it that easily if it were true. And most of the stuff that's already been mentioned.

I don't agree that it's the same 'ol thing as the other seasons. And I still feel like Miguel has some other thing going on that we haven't seen yet. Like he's been setting up Dexter all along and he's writing a book or some such contrivance. Maybe it's just bad writing but I'm hoping it's all been a planned story arc.

And now Dexter has resorted to killing innocent people (Miguel's brother and the child rapist). Not really much difference between him and the ITK now, outside of the body count.

There's a big difference. Dexter killed Miguel's brother in self-defense during a scuffle. He didn't know who he was and never sought to kill him in particular. The child rapist never killed anyone (as far as we know), but he certainly wasn't an innocent person.

The ITK was was killing truly innocent people with nothing to justify it except for the thrill of killing.

No joke. That bit was handled horribly. In the last ep when Yuki told Deb it would be her fault now if something bad happened, I thought, "Well, maybe if you weren't such a strongarming **** in seeking her help, you'd have gotten somewhere." I realize with her method they were trying to make it more tense but instead it just came off unprofessional and lacking diplomacy.

I likey. For me, the flashbacks were getting old (especially when they had Hall playing late teen Dex in that terrible wig), so sticking with the imaginary convos offers a nice change up.

Everytime Dexter has an imaginary conversation with his dead father, I expect Nate Sr. to jump into the conversation.
