Food for thought: I've seen some of the "practical" ways both guys and girls have worked angles with the person that they dig. Plus, I'm doubting that he hoofed it all the way to Dunder Mifflin corporate just to tell her "Hey, you should stay for YOU".

pinata242 11-07-08 03:36 PM

Right, he was actually trying to get her to leave work to go to an Art Show. That's not a date or anything.

Groucho 11-07-08 03:38 PM

Wasn't that guy all pierced and "punk" when we first saw him?

sb5 11-07-08 04:58 PM

Nope. He's was college-preppy in his first appearance too.

Seconded. She was absolutely precious clapping her hands and bouncing up and down, "That's what she said. That's what she said. THAT'S WHAT SHE SAID!!!!"

That might be one of my favorite moments from the show because of just how adorable she was.

Right up there with the Sam Marquez/Grand Canyon scene in Las Vegas.

Michael, Ryan and Toby have all had a thing for her at one time or another as well. Kevin has frequently commented on her looks also, and at the party where they "premiered" their office commercial a guy hit on her in front of Jim. I'm sure there's been a few others as well.

Just sayin'. :p

I rewatched the mock sales phone call again and it is pure comedy gold. I loved Dwights karate/air-guitar moves after Jim told him he was right about Kelly. Reminded me of the scenes where he did the same in the stairwell and backseat of Jim's car to get psyched up for a sales call. Dwight is so much more colorful and funnier than Gareth.

I like when he rocks out on top of the building. I guess it was the one where Michael was gonna jump off onto the air bag.

Is that really fair to say? Dwight has had 3x as many episodes as Gareth had. Dwight is funnier in an over-the-top way, but Gareth was more believable and pathetic as a human.

At this point, I don't think it makes any sense to compare the two series. At any level.

zekeburger1979 11-07-08 10:54 PM

The scene with Jim and Dwight's "phone call" was just as funny as when Jim moved Dwight's desk into the bathroom and called him.

I agree that Pam's enjoyment over getting a TWSS line was adorable. Oh Jenna Fischer, why must you do that to me? :)

I'm glad that the writers didn't turn the scene between Pam and What's his name from Mad Men into a revealing of feelings that I was afraid it was going to be. Smart writers they are.

Remember Andy also tried to hook up with her when he first got to Scranton.

The pickins are a little slim in the Office folks.

What was that? I can't remember.

The practice sales phone call was classic. Simple. Three people and a phone turns into hilarious banter.

As a whole, it wasn't a great episode, but it sure had some classic bits.

ryan too in one of his trips back from new york.

Deadman31 11-08-08 08:33 AM

Andy was too funny with the mug. I love when he starts getting angry.

Dwight's- "Get a friend loser" had me rolling.

Michael Corvin 11-08-08 10:11 AM

This has to be in the top 3 episodes ever. Every character/actor was firing on all cylinders.

Oh and since there isn't a thread, what was up with that 30 minute Kay Jewelers commercial disguised as an episode of My Name is Earl? :yack:

When she slept with the guy (who was going to die) on the rim of the Grand Canyon and she stood up and when pulling up her pants she did that crotch grab like it was all in a day's work and walked away.

NiCK Crush 11-08-08 10:49 AM

Ok, Pam is definitely attractive, and yea, I have a little crush on her. But some of you sound like you are going to abduct Jenna Fischer and do some sick/deranged shit to her. Calm down fellas.

Goldberg74 11-08-08 11:07 AM

When Andy was talking to the tenter (who did Guiliani's first and third weddings) and chose the colors and then the camera panned to what Angela was wearing I about lost it.

A gray tent top with dark gray skirt.

Ha ha. That link was for the whole set. They're $12 individually, which is still pricey for a mug. But I'm leaning toward Creed if I take the plunge.

I would have my own made....

I'm a gay man who finds her particularly attractive. Yes, that is possible.

Enjoyed the episode.

I have a standard def tv and this episode came through my tv as standard def when its usually widescreen anyone else have this. It kinda gave it a more documentary hand held camera feel but then often times people were barely in the scene like the whole opening scene in michael's office, half of mike's face was off the screen.

lordwow 11-08-08 05:45 PM

I don't know if any of you have worked in a workplace with a real lack of attractive females, but everyone hits on the hottest female in the workplace, especially, like in Pam's case, she was the only one.

I find that if you work in a place with one moderately attractive female, but lots of not-so-attractive females, the latter group makes the first one look much more attractive than they actually are.

But in The Office, I don't think Pam is the only attractive employee. Angela is actually very pretty when she smiles and Kelly can be cute as well. The only ones that aren't lookers are Meredith and Phylis.
