South Park - "About Last Night..." - 11/5/08

I thought all the Randy stuff was great and all the Obama/McCain stuff was just ok. It had its moments though. The unreasonably complicated heist was great and hearing Ike say "Boom, baby" was hilarious.
Palin's speech was good. That woman is like a goldmine for comedians. If she was VP we would have had 4 years of solid jokes just about her.
Randy is far and away the best part of the show. When the cop showed up and Randy had his pants on and then it cuts away and cuts back to him and his pants are gone.

Fucking spammers...
I loved this episode, but mostly Randy of course.
Of course the McCain supporters at The Ark (
) fighting with each other and blaming Obama was classic as well.
I loved that they were able to write in some scenes taking direct quotes from the previous night's speeches, even if the rest of the episode was already done.
I wonder if they had a similar one in case McCain won. If the general population scenes were different. I think it would be great to see that next week. Sort of like the alternate endings in Clue... "But here's what might have happened..."

I loved last nights episode.
WOW - less than 24 hours and they were able to have the exact speech - and have scenes with the victor's supporters partying.
I also liked the ocean's 11 story line.
Randy stole the show though.

They did a great job of portraying the extremes. The McCain honks who actually think the world is going to end and the Obama rock star worshippers who actually think their life is going to be much different than it was in the past.
Randy going off on his boss was one of the funniest things ever on this show.

Hey there South Park-orinos!!!!!
Thanks for checking back in with us. Hope all is well? Sincerely, I hope that. How’s your week been? I want all of you to let me know how you’re doing. Yes, that’s right, I want you to comment on this blog and tell me about yourselves. Feel free to also tell me how awesome I am.
This is definitely not a ploy to see which one of the PA’s can get more comments on their blog than the others.
Gary, Steve, Dave, and I, most certainly did not make a bet to see who the fans of the show think is the funniest/best-looking/smartest out of the PA’s here at South Park. Did I mention how great I think you all are? Well, I think that. And I’m Kenny. The PA.
Anywho, tonight’s a big night here at South Park. In case you haven’t heard, America will be deciding who will be our next president*. But, more importantly, the staff here at South Park will be up all night working on Wednesday’s show. Which means we, the PA’s, have been given the noble task of giving the staff updates throughout the night on the election. This is a very big deal, since the premise of tomorrow’s show may or may not depend entirely on the outcome. Who ever said, “South Park isn’t topical” was lying through there teeth if you ask me. (No one said that. And no one asked me.)
Well, that’s all for now. I’m off to count some more votes. (And by that, I mean go to Baja Fresh for Trey.)
Thanks Steve!!!

I loved this episode. Not only was it EXTREMELY topical (the next day!), the whole premise of running for president just to be able to steal a diamond was awesome.
And then of course all the Randy scenes were pure gold.

The Oceans 11 bit was pretty funny, I liked how Sarah Palin switched off her accent to her "real" one.
I still would like to have seen more of the Obama supporters going nuts.

The heist part was only so-so, IMO, but the over-partying Obama supporters and the fearful McCain supporters hiding in a bunker were both perfect satire!
(I even referenced the episode when I told my sister to wait about a week before calling our parents to give our mega-Republican mom time to come out of her "bunker"
)
