Honestly, I stopped watching that show several seasons ago, and I thought most people had, too. I was shocked to see a commercial for the current season. I thought it had ended last year, since they've been talking about ER's final season for a hell of a long time now.

I watched even though Abby is gone. I have to say that intern (Emily Rose) looked hot in her costume.

if a tree falls in the forest, and nobody is around to hear it, does it make a sound?

Shane West didn't lose his legs in real life right? i thought maybe i missed something in the news, but figured it was just for the show, but then thought they wouldn't go that extreme if it wasn't based on something real so then panic and tried to look up, but didn't find anything.

so how did it happen on the show?

No, Shane West did not lose his legs in real life.

As I recall... he was waiting for Neela in some bar/club.. she didn't show up for some reason.. he kept drinking.. went outside and was hit by a truck (???)
Neela didn't find out what happened to him for days.

That's pretty much it.

Not much of a "surprise" appearance when he's listed in the opening credits, tho.

I thought it was a good send-off for Ray, which allowed us to see that he came to grips with his accident, and has made a life for himself, and become a productive doctor in spite of the loss of his legs.

Banfield's kicking the crap out of the mugger was pretty hot, too bad I don't care much for her as a character.

Not only do we get Emily Rose on the show, but also Shiri Appleby (though they go out of their way to downplay her good looks).

Still hate Anspaugh's nephew, and his pursuit of Neela.

She was also doing the romance/no romance dance with Gates at that time, which made Ray very jealous. He thought Neela chose Gates over him, so he got sloppy drunk, stumbled into the street, dropped his keys, picked them up, and whammo'ed by a truck.

A much better synopsis! I knew it had something to do with Neela and her never ending line of suitors, I just couldn't remember who the other guy was.

That's why Gates was so visibly uncomfortable while Ray was in the ER.

Neela is a whore.

Still like the show though...
