Looks like King of the Hill could possibly continue on ABC.

I think Mike Judge is still heavily involved with the show and I remember reading about his sincere love of the suburbs in an interview recently. He does the voice of Hank, after all.

The episode on Sunday where Strickland Propane goes on Myspace was as good as any of them. I think what is great about this show is that it's so grounded and has a "common sense" sensibility about it.

If this is picked up by ABC, I'll be quite happy. One of this things I loved about the show is the growth spurt of Joseph and the overall growth of the all the characters. I just wonder what an adult or teenage Bobby would look like since they never did flash-forward episodes.

+1, this show has always been grounded in reality. ABC needs to get this!

I too would be thrilled if ABC picked this up.

On a related note...I just saw an announcement on [adult swim] that starting January 1st they are going to start their programming at 10:00 p.m. with King of the Hill! Glad to see it will have another home, and I'm hoping they'll start from the first episode and progress chronologically. Perhaps if it gets good ratings it will prompt further season releases on DVD...?

So, the last episode ever just aired, right?

I sure hope we get a movie or something down the road.

For what it's worth, the Wikipedia Entry for King of the Hill Episodes has two more episodes listed for the final season...

It really is unfortunate that this show didn't get a proper series finale.

Re: King of the Hill Canceled

I've watched this show since the start, I'm a huge fan, so yeah, I hate that we don't get a proper series finale. I'll hold out hope for a relaunch or a movie I guess.

Re: King of the Hill Canceled

One of the best shows on TV, even if it had been lacking lately it was still better than most anything else. Blows away anything else animated, that's for sure.

Fox sucks. At least I won't have to tune into that network anymore.

Too bad Judge's next show, The Goode's or whatever, looks pretty lame. At least Greg Daniels is still doing good stuff though with The Office.

Totally agree. Show has been pretty solid it's entire run.

Up for discussion... How "would" you send it off?

I started thinking about it, but one of the staples of the show is that it's just everyday life, the next day, the next day... I haven't come up with something that would be a solid ending as of yet. Should definitely end with the alley scene of "yep, yep, yep", though.

Re: King of the Hill Canceled

How are there only two episodes left? That makes no sense. Fox said there were enough left over for another season.

Are there even 2 left? DirecTV is not flagging as new next week. EpGuides.com doesn't have anything further and they are usually pretty accurate.

I always pictured the series finale as Dale finding out about the affair. I wonder if it really is ending, if they will ever tie up that loose end. It would be a funny ep/

I must be missing something because when Fox announced it was canceled last Fall, everyone was clamoring that there were still enough episodes left in the can for another full season.

Why would they transition to HD with only a month left? Seems like a total waste to me.

I take the affair ending as the tying up of that loose end.

exactly what i was thinking

since it's basically the longest running, unspoken joke on the show, it would be funny as hell to have Dale find out and end up with the expected "I love you like a real son anyway" ending.

or they could just do a take off on the Six Feet Under ending

i wish Bobby would get his own show

I wouldn't mind seeing Junichiro come visit Texas for a week. Strickland would finally retire and Hank gets to run Strickland Propane.

I had always assumed Dale knew about the affair but was just in extreme denial about it.

I guess it would be more a 'coming to terms' with it, as opposed to actually finding out.

Maybe that whole thing is better left the way it is though.

I would have been happy with a 90minute clip retrospective

Re: King of the Hill Canceled

Hopefully they will cut a direct to DVD extended episode. I'm finally starting to see it heavily syndicated, so maybe that will send a message to Fox and the producers.
