Creed

David Wallace saw Michael and Holly smooching last week.

Uh-oh. Based on the episode title, the shit's gonna hit the fan.

Don't need to be a rocket scientist to figure out what's up.

Gizmo 10-30-08 11:40 AM

Bye Holly :(

riotinmyskull 10-30-08 11:40 AM

creed as the joker = genius.

gryffinmaster 10-30-08 11:43 AM

Grrrrr ... I'm not a fan of Holly leaving. :(

Both Creed and Kevin wearing Joker outfits will be great. That'll be a recurring theme at many a costume party this year.

Damfino 10-30-08 12:44 PM

Oh, please keep Holly! -pray-

Zee 10-30-08 01:24 PM

My hometown (Nashua, NH) will be featured in this episode! Woo! Can't wait to see how L.A. will function as New England.

I'll hate losing Holly. She really brings some life to Michael on this show. Man!

I wouldn't be surprised to see her make an occasional appearance in later episodes, as many recurring but not regular characters have. And I can see the writers possibly doing some interesting things with a broken-hearted Michael if/when Holly is gone.

But I agree that Michael is a better character with Holly around. I'm kind of dreading the show going back to the Michael/Jan relationship, which never worked for me and (with the exception of Season 2) dragged the show down whenever it was the focus of an episode.

fumanstan 10-30-08 07:58 PM

Hopefully the writers will notice the fan reaction to Holly, as it seems like it's universally positive.

lordwow 10-30-08 08:11 PM

rotfl this episode is gold so far.

I thought Dwight was pulling the Jim thing where he dressed up like him on Andy at first.

riotinmyskull 10-30-08 08:18 PM

cutest. charlie chaplin. ever.

wishbone 10-30-08 08:20 PM

modern cabbage

Jimmy James 10-30-08 08:38 PM

I think they're trying to set the table for the exit of Carell from the show as a regular (but still giving him the ability to recur). That's pure speculation on my part, informed by nothing.

MrX 10-30-08 08:50 PM

Loved the Dwight/Andy stuff:lol:

DarkestPhoenix 10-30-08 09:07 PM

I'm sticking with my theory that Holly will show up for the finale preggers.

Didn't he sign on for another three seasons not too long ago?

As annoying and over the top as he can be, without him the show would be nothing.

Yes.

The recent interviews about Holly have said:

Spoiler:
Amy Ryan wants to get a long-term contract with the show, but wanted an opt-out clause if she got a role in a film that shoots during the season. They're trying to work something out with her, but likely she would only be on like Jan was, for a dozen or so episodes a season.

maingon 10-30-08 10:10 PM

I loved this episode, Pam as charlie chaplin was awesome, I loved that scene, especially when she said she cant take her hat off because then she looks like Hitler, Awesome stuff. everything in this episode was solid gold. Just sad to see Holly go, I LOVE her character. This season has been fantastic.

Amy Ryan was a great edition to the show. She will be missed.

Dwight's prank was Jim Halpert through and through. It's always great to see Andy lose it.

cdollaz 10-30-08 10:48 PM

I didn't care for this episode much. The opening Halloween stuff was good, but the Jim/Pam stuff, the Michael/Holly stuff, and the Dwight/Andy didn't really do anything for me.

andicus 10-30-08 10:52 PM

I thought it was a pretty good episode. Bummer about Holly, though.

Did anything happen after Dwight bit the beet? My show got cut off as he bit into it...

Sex Fiend 10-30-08 10:59 PM

This episode was a bit of a mixed bag for me. Dwight/Andy was funny, and Daryl's reactions during the road trip (and Michael's whining about Holly breaking it off with him) cracked me up.

On the other hand, I wasn't really getting the whole sub-plot with Pam and Jim's brothers. That didn't really go anywhere, and the performances of the actors playing Jim's brothers seemed strangely broad.

Sad to see Holly go, but it does add another element of the bittersweetness that enhances the show.

pridesticks06 10-30-08 11:42 PM

I thought this episode was pretty solid, but I wish we could have had more Halloween stuff. That was a bit disappointing. Liked the Cornell stuff though but, as most, sad to see Holly go.

"Did Darryl touch you?"

Gizmo 10-31-08 12:11 AM

So confused on the Halloween part. Didn't the whole episode take place in the course of one day? Did they change out of their outfits after being at work for an hour? Dwight goes into the elevator as the Joker and comes out in a Cornell sweatshirt and the whole office is "normal".

I disagree. I think they spent the perfect amount of time on the Halloween stuff. They made the jokes that needed to be made, and they especially nailed it with 3 different Jokers in one office. IMO, the fact that they only spent a few minutes on the Halloween stuff will give this episode a lot more replay value.

It threw me for a second as well, but it was pretty clearly two days.

Setzer 10-31-08 12:29 AM

It just keeps getting better and better! This season might be the best one yet.

Loved the part when Holly was crying and Michael asks her, "Did Darryl touch you?"

It was?

Seemed like they were all dressed up and then Michael was downstairs packing Holly up while Jim left to NY. I don't recall ever even seeing Michael in the office (where he would no doubt be dressed like an idiot). And Halloween is on a Friday...so are they working on the weekend?

Rypro 525 10-31-08 01:01 AM

i loled when Dwight wanted to do the pencil trick line, but the elevator closed on him before he could finish.

If we are staying true to what the show is (a documentary about a paper company) then it can't possibly be this Halloween. But then the Joker makeup wouldn't make any sense, since that movie came out this summer. So maybe it's best to not be so literal about the show and just enjoy the comedy.

fumanstan 10-31-08 01:42 AM

Yeah, there's no reason to think that it has to be this Halloween on a Friday. I just assumed it was a day later and moved on, although it was odd at first.

Ravenous 10-31-08 01:53 AM

Boring episode. The intro with Joker Creed was great but confusing when they werent in costume. Pretty stupid.

I still dont see what makes "Pam" attractive...

TGM 10-31-08 04:34 AM

awful episode. other than the Creed-Joker, didn't laugh once. The scenes with Jim's brothers were tedious. The Andy/Dwight stuff went on way too long, and again tedious. This was the first Office turd of the season, IMO.

Snowmaker 10-31-08 06:49 AM

That had to be the worst episode ever. The only real laugh I got was Pam's costume when she took off the hat.

The whole moving Holly thing and the Cornell stuff was just annoying.

These were the two LOL moments for me last night. Both cracked me up.

Red Dog 10-31-08 07:24 AM

Poor Darryl. How the hell did he get roped into driving up with them?
