Normally I like Jim and Pam, but I thought the material for them this week was really boring. That practical joke his brothers played was lame.

Question: Did she officially quit as a receptionist at the Scranton branch? They need to get her back there. Her scenes in New York have been dull.

I liked Andy and Dwight's Cornell battle. I got a few chuckles out of that.

Michael still makes me cringe and alot of his scenes are so uncomfortable to watch, but he's still the bread and butter of the show. Sorry to see Amy Ryan. Hopefully they will try to get her back before May sweeps.

Were we supposed to expect Jim's brother's just to be naturally funny and then they weren't? Was that the joke?

Because otherwise that was just lame.

I'd say it's a tie between Jenna Fisher and Katie Melua

Andy and Dwight's Cornell battle was jump the shark worth. It was a rip off of the 30 Rock episode last year where Frank shows up dressed like he went to Toofer's college when he actually didn't and then Toofer started to show up dressed as Frank.

I am not saying it was a terrible episode, but it's a real low point in the series when it doesn't just rip off another show, but it blatantly rips off another show on the same network, from an episode that only aired a few months ago.

I expect more from this show.

I just got done watching the ep on Hulu and came to read this thread.

I'm surprised that no one else mentioned this earlier in the thread.

The other thing no one has mentioned yet was this exchange.
Holly: "Michael, don't make it harder than it has to be."

Michael: (rushed) "That's what she said."

Both: (sob)
I liked the ep okay. It wasn't the best of the season, but it was good for me (after I realized that it wasn't a Halloween ep... but I was cool with it).

I missed that somehow. Probably due to my son being 2. I do a lot of rewinding and volume changes.

I would have missed the "That's what she said" moment if I hadn't turned on closed-captioning because of a previously missed line (and left it on).

It was very quick, and very much under-the-breath.

Holly leaving is stupid

pretty bad episode overall

a 2 year old isn't going to get that anyway or probably even
register that comment.

I liked the ep but expected it to be an actual halloween show.

It's more like him running around wide open going aaahhhhhh and turning on all of his noisemaking toys at the same time. The rewinding and volume changes are for me.

whotony 11-02-08 04:22 PM

oh crap.

My Other Self 11-03-08 04:18 AM

I liked this episode. But you didn't expect Toby to be gone forever, right?

Not surprised they wrote her out. But I liked her and Micheal's chemistry.

shumway 11-03-08 01:57 PM

Yeah, I'm sure Toby will be back from Costa Rica next week. Wonder if he'll be fully healed/recovered or what.

I agree. Why are they doing this with Pam. Couldnt she have gone to Summer School so we didn't have to see this?
Is she filming a movie that she cant be with the rest of the cast?
