This is just one of those shows that people are really skeptical about and never watch until a few years after it's ended and they discover it on DVD and go "I can't believe great shows like this got canceled!"

No, no, no. A thousand times no.
This is what I can tell you hundreds of panicked fans who have emailed in this evening after hearing a fast-spreading rumor that Pushing Daisies has been canceled.
I've just checked in with very reliable and high-placed sources connected to the show, who tell me that ABC has not yet told producers the fate of the series.
Still, there is some truth to the rumor going around...
The current rumor being spread is that Daisies producers were told by ABC to treat episode 13 as a series finale, which some fans have interpreted as definitive news that the network decided to cancel the series.
Not true, say my very reliable sources. Producers have not yet been told whether they will receive a pickup for the remaining nine episodes of the current second season.
However, it is true that producers were told to change the plan for the 13th episode, which initially was a two-parter, with payoff in the 14th episode. According to insiders, ABC told producers to make number 13 a stand-alone episode and to "cover all bases," meaning that the episode should be able to serve as either a series finale or a launch pad into the final nine episodes of season two.
While the final scene of episode 13 would be a powerful final image of the series (it involves Charlotte Charles), I'm told there will be many storyline threads left unanswered, and trust me, you fans will not be happy if you don't get those back nine and the resolution to those stories.
Insiders at ABC tell me that the call on Daisies' fate might not come for a few weeks, as the decision-makers want to see how viewing patterns shift after the election on Tuesday.
The good news? Last night's episode was up a million viewers.
And really, what better way to celebrate the end of the election-news onslaught than with a genius, creative hour of fantasy-fun drama on Wednesday nights?

Weakest episode of this season, but
return of Simone, addition of Stephen Root (what is Dwight's angle?)
ABC needs to show more confidence in this show, and stop the incessant promos for Wife Swap and that fat Supernanny cow!!

Well, look on the bright side:
http://www.thrfeed.com/2008/10/abc-slots-retur.html

I know this probably won't do much, but there is a petition with about 16,400 signatures so far (and I've noticed there are like 20 more every minute, too):

ABC slots return of 'According to Jim'
Veteran sitcom "According to Jim" is returning to ABC's airwaves next month.
"Jim" is slotted to return Tuesdays at 9 p.m., starting Dec. 2. ABC plans to run an hour of the show -- back-to-back episodes to replace the "Dancing With the Stars" results show once the current run concludes.

I record PD on an HD DVR that I get through RCN cable. For some reason PD seems to have awful lip sync problems, though I think it may be the show itself, because I don't notice it on most other shows, or even the commercials shown during PD.
Is there anyone else who has noticed this, or is it just me? It seems a show that's as detail-rich as PD would pay better attention to ADR syncing, or maybe my cable feed is just problematic...

PS - I do have to say that this episode wasn't nearly as good as others this season. In all, the plot was just too convoluted to follow...

I like the look and feel of the show as well as the characters. But I have to say the storylines and especially the murder mysteries are weak. It would be nice if ABC didn't cancel it because I'd continue to watch. But if they decide to cancel it, it would be alright with me.
I love the premise, the characters, the look of the show. But every week I start to zone out around the 30 minute mark and I get bored with the murder mystery. I thought I was the only one.

I really wouldn't miss it if it was cancelled. The first year was pretty good, but every episode this season seems to have the same feel as the previous episode.

'Daisies' faces uncertain future
ABC might not pick up show
By MICHAEL SCHNEIDER
"Pushing Daisies" may soon be pushing daisies.
According to talk around town, ABC is leaning toward not picking up any more episodes of the critically acclaimed, but little seen, hour-long drama this season. Show is currently winding down production on its 13-episode order.
But an ABC spokeswoman stressed that no final decision has yet been made on the show. Alphabet execs are still big fans of the show, and blame "Daisies'" strike-induced ten month hiatus for this fall's struggling numbers.
As a result, net may be mulling a plan to extend its options on the show's cast and attempt another relaunch next year.
But that's a long shot possibility. At a recent Paley Center panel, showrunner Bryan Fuller said he'd consider continuing the "Daisies" storyline via comic book if the show was canceled.
"Daisies," which has earned raves for its quirky storylines and stylish design, has averaged just 6.6 million views overall, and a 2.3 rating and 5 share after five episodes this season. Show has been pre-empted the past two weeks, first for a "Dancing with the Stars" results show, and this week because of the CMA Awards.

'Pushing Daisies' future in doubt
ABC's "Pushing Daisies" wraps production on its 13th episode today and industry sources are buzzing that the network does not plan to order more episodes.
An ABC spokesperson says no decision has been made, and series creator Bryan Fuller says he has not heard a verdict.
"We have heard nothing in any official capacity," Fuller says. "Our ABC exec was on the set last night saying they are still swinging in the fight to keep 'Daisies' on the air. Spirits are high and hopeful and everyone here is very proud of our work and this show."
The show will have to be alerted soon to avoid disruption of production.
"Daisies" has averaged 6.6 million viewers and a 2.3 adults 18-49 rating this season.
Fuller has previously said he may return to the writing staff of NBC's beleaguered "Heroes" if "Daisies" is shut down. Fuller has also said that, if canceled, he might finish out this season's storylines in comic book form.
Working in "Daisies" favor: ABC hates to cancel shows. No network likes it, but ABC always seems the most reluctant. "Eli Stone," "What About Brian," "Dirty Sexy Money," "According to Jim" ... ABC is king of the one-more-chance. Even when a show is canceled, the network doesn't like to call it canceled. They still haven't admitted "Cashmere Mafia" isn't coming back. Heck, ABC renewed "Scrubs" -- and that wasn't even their show. ABC has only canceled one series so far this season, the game show "Opportunity Knocks," but basically told reporters, "it might return, you never know, it's just off the schedule."
