Jumping really quick is almost like flying.
The more they show of Sam Witwer the better. He is quite the Hunk.
I enjoyed the episode.
How did Martian Manhunter lose his powers again?

I know nothing about Doomsday, so I am interested to see where they go with it. Bummed that there was no Lois, in fact it seemed really light on main characters. No Lois, Tess or Oliver. Strange.

I thought it was a decent Clark / Chloe episode. This season seems to be moving the "Clark growing up" arc along quite nicely, but he really needs to lose the red coat & blue shirt outfit. I know it is symbolic and it worked in high school, but it stands out way too much. Looks like Chloe is having doubts about Jimmy and thats a good thing.
I don't like Tess or Oliver, but the episode really missed Lois. Martian Manhunter sounds like a radio announcer not and actor. The Doomsday plotline is moving forward nicely.
All around a good episode, but a slightly low on energy.

Nothing much to add. Pretty solid episode despite missing the regulars. I will agree with Ayre, Clark needs to stick to the suits and go with a red or blue tie if they want to stay symbolic.

I agree. I was happy to see that the writers seem to be somewhat acknowledging that they can't change the ultimate outcome of the characters - Jimmy is single in the Superman lore which this precedes.
Yes. Let's just hope we don't get stagnant freak of the week episodes from now until January is all I ask.

Hey, this episode was one of the best ones this season so far - though that isn't saying much.

I really enjoyed this episode. i have a hunch Davis (Doomsday) is going to kill Chloe in the finale and that will be the ultimate push for Clark to turn into Supes.

IIRC also, you are right. I wondering if the producers will explain his origin or will they fail to mention it?

From: Bartertown due to it having a better economy than where I really live.
he flew clark close to the sun and the super dose of yellow star radiation restored clark but getting that close to the sun hurt John (which made me wonder how he was able to fly back to earth)

Well, despite what some of you may say I think the series has established that it is not following the "traditional" (post Crisis?....) Superman mythology. They are clearly taking liberty where necessary. That said, I don't expect Doomsday to follow the alien origin that the comics gave. My guess would be some sort of meteor or Lexcorp connection. Maybe the inner darkness is Lex trying to break free.
I too thought it was a good episode. I really liked how the character finished their thoughts instead of walking about of a situation and never resolving anything - particularly Clark and Chloe.
I agree that the red coat/blue shirt motif needs to go. Maybe they're edging that way since Clark seems to go with some modern outfits about 1/3 the time.
Did anybody else get the feeling that Lois was really sick - tissues on the desk and mugs - and the point was that Clark wasn't paying enough attention? That's what I thought was being implied. Speaking of Lois, I would have liked a short scene or two with her in the hallway. Would have bought a little levity to the episode.
The other implication I got at the end was that Davis is somehow related to an incident at a orphanage - perhaps there is a Tess tie-in there? Oliver is still trying to find out what happened to her. Although the assumption there is it happened between the island and now. We just don't know what that time-gap was. 4 years ago?
Anyway, I'm still enjoying the season and look forward to more. However, put me in the boat of those who are being taken down foreshadow river. I'm really thinking Chloe gets - specifically because of her overbearing trust in Davis - and is some sort of trigger-point for Clark.
