I wonder why they changed their mind on not blindsiding Sugar.

Not sure, but I got the feeling before tribal that Sugar had a pretty good idea that her bag had been searched. I thought she was foolish for not playing the idol, then I thought the tribe was foolish for not voting her out. But the one guy was right when he said that if you say you want out, everyone pounces on that.

What was with all the shots of Marcus and Charlie celebrating together? Is Charlie turning Marcus over his side for some possible bromance?

I, too, really liked the challenges. Glad I'm not alone.

I actually really like Randy for some reason.

Very surprised they missed out on the chance to blindside Sugar. but I think they feel she isn't really a threat.

Who knows if they collectively changed their minds before TC but I wouldn't have put her name down after she said she had her bag with her (knowing the idol was in there).

Do we know the Idol rules for this season?

Based on past rules, and large majority debating between GC and Sugar, it was the perfect time for an "engineered vote," slight majority for Sugar to either get rid of her or force the idol, the rest of the vote for GC as "backup" plan. However, that is probably too complicated for these idiots. Thinking isn't their strong suit.

Because GC is that much of a tool.

I think I'm liking these challenges because they aren't all water based. I was getting really tired of every other challenge requiring them to swim. I missed the first season on Africa (Season 3 I think), so I'm not sure how many water challenges were done there.

So far the land based challenges and teamwork challenges are fun.

That, and is anyone else noticing the lack of bug bites this year too. I think they pulled back from the bug infested areas due to this season being in HD.

^agreed. Now would have been the perfect time to blindside Sugar. You lose either Sugar or GC and you flush out the idol either way.

Next week, when Fang eventually loses, I say they make a strong play to vote out Ace. That tribe is dead in the water so they might as well start pegging off the strong ones before the merge. That and Ace is a huge douche.

What I like so far about this season is that there doesn't seem to be tribal lines with the Old Kota and the Old Fang. Sure some of them are sticking together but there seems to be a lot of flip flopping and come merge time it doesn't look like the old tribes will get back together and start pegging the others off. This game should get pretty interesting come the merge since the only true alliance seems to be Marcus, Charlie, Corrine and Bob (I think he's part of that).

I almost think that you could make a strategy out of not flushing out Sugar's idol just yet. Because once you get to the merge you let the incoming Kota people know that Sugar has it, and you deflect the votes to her for at least that week. Either she gets voted out anyway, or she plays it and a Kota person gets eliminated instead. Win win. Of course, that doesn't take into consideration who you vote out in the weeks leading up to the merge, assuming Fang keeps losing challenges.

I actually had some sympathy for GC by the end of the episode. I thought he was just a big wussy that had an attitude problem. As he said, and his bio says, he's had a difficult life (including being homeless). I think he found himself acting how he used to when he was growing up and he didn't like it. I hate to see someone quit but it did seem like the right thing to do.

I do too. I think it's because, even though he's not super athletic and is older than the others, he steps up when it matters most instead of whining like a little girl (adios, GC).

Ive been meaning to ask, at the end of Ep1, they had an In memory to Alston or something. Was that the dude who quit a olong time ago? What did he die of?

Alton Desiree was a crew member who drowned on set in Brazil in September.

I like how Dan, the newbie in Kota, was urging them all to stick together.

How stupid is Ace - He stopped when Randy told him to and Sugar is just as bad by never said a word afterwards.

I zipped through the talking at TC, was Sugar crying when it was time to vote?

Marcus is my favorite so far.
