I didn't expect Smits to find out about Dexter so soon. Granted, it's not the full truth but now the show has a new relationship to work with where Smits can help Dexter cover his tracks. Could be interesting if handled well.

Could the writers saddle Dexter with anymore obstacles to his chosen profession? Dealing with the pregnancy on one front, and having Miguel on his other flank, while also beating Deb to the punch in terms of leads has to wear on a guy. Fun stuff.

Did Dexter have time to clean up the "kill room" before running into Prado? If not, having Freebo all tied up in celophane surrounded by pictures of his victims kind of puts a crimp in the "self-defense" explanation
I can't imagine Prado walks away from the scene without wanting to have a look at the body.

yeah, wasn't expecting anyone to find out so soon about Dexter. Will be an interesting dynamic.
My theory is that the cop brother will start to dig up dirt on Dexter, causing there to be some sort of confrontation at the end of the season.

He's a D.A. It already looks bad enough that he's there now, and if it came to light that he saw the body/knew of it, that'd be even worse. He understands this, and Dexter, again, catches a lucky break.

Great episode. I didn't think this show could possibly get any more tense.
Going slightly off topic, does anyone know where I can get a picture (or at least a good quality screenshot) of Dexter's Miami-Dade PD laminate? I'm think about going as Dexter for Halloween (dressed in his traditional killing clothes), but there will be a lot of people who won't know who I am. I thought that even though he doesn't wear the laminate when he's out doing his business that it would be a good way to indicate who I am.

Miguel had doubts about killing Freebo and it's obvious he was extremely relieved that someone else did the dirty work for him. Dexter mentioning "plausable deniability" was the clincher for him to walk away. After being told that, Miguel understood it's best to distance himself from the crime scene as he could be considered someone with enough motive to kill Freebo (ie. revenge). I buy him leaving the scene due to his dilemna about the situation to begin with.

That was what was questionable. They specifically showed the exchange and the blood on the shirt. But, I couldn't tell whether it was intentional or completely accidental. But, the way it was shot pretty much foreshadowed that something will come of it.

I saw it as Dexter in that moment was deciding if he'd have to go ahead and stick the knife in his back while he had the chance but then Miguel said something (can't remember exactly) that made him decide he didn't have to. The blood on the shirt just happened.

If worse comes to worse the blood may come in handy if Miguel ever tries to corner Dexter as the Blood will not only be on his shirt, but in his car, or anything else he sits in that night....They defiantly focused on the blood for a reason.. time will only tell for what though...

Miguel was there to do the same thing that Dexter ended up doing...I cant remember word for word, but it was something similar to "I didnt know if I could go through with it, but you did.....)....IMO if anything Dexter doesn't need to worry about this one, after all Miguel was the only one who had motive to actually kill Freebo, going there in the middle of the night, with a gun, regardless of if you are "up the chain" will not look good if it "leaked" out.....

As everyone has mentioned, great episode. Not a big fan of Deb, so it was to see Yuki (IA) call her out.
I believed Miguel walking away from the scene at Teegan's place, mostly because of what was mentioned earlier in the episode (on top of the "Plausible Deniability" mention from Dex). You had LaGuerta talk to Miguel about not being personally involved in cases. Also you had her mentioning later information about the Chicky Hines case that would prove that Miguel convicted the wrong man.
You would think even with revenge on his mind he would still remember these things. He already knew he was going farther than he ever wanted/imagined.
Also judging by the previews during the credits, it is interesting to see another "killer" on the loose.
