Why in the world did they do that instead of using the traditional opening crawl message? The crawl would have been so much better.

Still loving this show. Looks like them are going for a theme this season of worlds getting dragged into the war by no fault of their own. We seen episodes where the Jedi weren't the focus now we have one where neither the jedi nor the clones are the focus. Though I did like Rex two gunning like a left 4 dead player trying to get his aikido assassin achievement Great show.

Having broken ratings records on Cartoon Network, animated series "Star Wars: The Clone Wars" will receive an encore run on broader-skewing sibling channel TNT. The George Lucas-produced series will make its TNT debut on Feb. 14 with back-to-back first-season episodes following the Turner Networks channel's coverage of the NBA All-Star Game weekend activities. The half-hour sci-fi series will settle into its regular Wednesday 10 p.m. timeslot starting Feb. 18. |

due to conflicts, I'm now unable to dvr the 1st airing of this show, which is always in glorious anamorphic widescreen... I find that subsequent airings, the image is letterboxed, and squished vertically a bit... anyone else find this? what gives?

Grrr, I keep forgetting this is on and missing it! So guess I'll just hang on til the Season One box comes out.
So far it sounds like the series has done a good job salvaging the Prequel universe. |

I hear over in England on SKY network it is shown letterboxed 2.35:1 ratio. |

Humm, I watch it on Friday nights on Cartoon Network HD and it is not anamorphic widescreen or letterbox. Wish it were though since I have a 136" 2.35:1 screen. Are you saying the image is already stretched vertically? If so that would be perfect for my setup.
I hear over in England on SKY network it is shown letterboxed 2.35:1 ratio. The original episode that airs Fridays at 9PM on CNHD is widescreen, filling up my =entire= HDTV, without black bars, with an image that is quite stunning. Subsequent airings, while also widescreen, are squished vertically, with black bars on the top and bottom, so everything looks squat, and the PQ seems to be a bit downgraded as well. I have DirecTV. What gives? |

Damn, I didn't realize that new episodes of this were airing again. I thought the season was over after the initial 10 or so episodes finished in November/December ... how many new episodes of these have there been since haitus?
|
re: Star Wars: The Clone Wars -- CGI animated series -- Discussion Thread
Friday's was episode 19 out of 22 for the season. It's been new every Friday except one since the new year.

^ Crap, it airs in Canada on CTV Sunday nights at 7pm. New episodes stopped some time in early December I think, and it looped back to the first episode. At some point, they weren't airing Clone Wars in that timeslot any longer, and they yesterday they aired Part 1 of a two-part episode where Anakin and Asoka go to aid Ayla Secura ... anyone know which episode out of 22 that was?

Anyone catch the season finale of Clone Wars? I thought it was one of the better episodes. Cad Bane was perfectly realized and is now my favorite CW character. And Aura Sing was pretty badass too.

Great wrap up. They brought back Zero the Hutt, who didn't seem totally happy about his own financed rescue.
Was this the first ep that spent any time on the fact that Annie and Padme are married? They sure opened the show with it. |

re: Star Wars: The Clone Wars -- CGI animated series -- Discussion Thread
I thought the finale was sensational. I haven't seen the Clone Wars movie yet, so this was my introduction to Ziro the Hutt. Yikes!
On the other hand, the overall plot was my cup of tea. I love "24" and this episode had the same feel. I also loved the music score that had a Hans Zimmer (Dark Knight) style to it. |
re: Star Wars: The Clone Wars -- CGI animated series -- Discussion Thread
this show has been fantastic, it feels like the original star wars. I cant wait till it comes out on Bluray, I missed a few episodes but i really loved the different worlds and characters we seen, worlds seemed more real in this series then episodes 2-3

re: Star Wars: The Clone Wars -- CGI animated series -- Discussion Thread
I just watched the final episode.
I went into this series with incredibly low expectations, seeing how bad the movie was. I also didn't think it could live up to the last Clone Wars animated series. But... it was a great series, and a great finale, and I'm looking forward to it returning in the fall. |
re: Star Wars: The Clone Wars -- CGI animated series -- Discussion Thread
I am toying with the idea of getting the first season on blu-ray once it is available. I have REALLY enjoyed it, despite the fact I watched the movie twice (once on purpose, once on a bus full of 5th graders on a field trip...)

re: Star Wars: The Clone Wars -- CGI animated series -- Discussion Thread
My DVR reads every episode as new and recorded the finale three times this weekend. Better than missing one, but still annoying.

Last episode was great, not 1 battledroid. I'll give the season a B+.
