Is there any commercial breaks during tonight's broadcast? Just wondering if I'll have time to grab some snacks during, or if I should get it all ready ahead of time... :)

Chapters 21-25 were definitely better than the first 20 chapters. I can't wait for Episode III
|
I had the VCR all set to record the complete Clone Wars Volume II today at my dad's place. (My ReplayTV is at my apartment where I currently have no cable or satellite). I left a note on the VCR saying not to touch it, but of course someone did. When I came back from work, my neice and nephew were watching Goonies on DVD (it's a DVD-VCR combo) and since the VCR was turned off to make the timer work, I knew something was up. There was no tape in the VCR and when I found the tape and checked it, of course it was blank. My idiot brother in law didn't see my note and messed with it of course. If anyone was kind enough to record it and wouldn't mind sending me a VHS or DVD-r, I would be extremely happy. I don't want any online version, I want to watch these on TV. Thanks a lot! Unfortunatly no, it's a Showstopper 1000. (Though it's cool, because there are no fees)

The entire run of The Clone Wars was just spectacular. It reminded me of why I've loved Star Wars all these years. In my opinion, it worked on pretty much every level. The emotional parts were truly emotional, the action was great (all I have to say is that nobody in the universe - Sideous and Grievous included - wants to "take it outside" with Mace Windu). A little corny 3PO humor thrown in for good measure. Lucas did well to hire Tartakovsky and crew, who in turn gave him a wonderful series that perfectly sets up Episode 3. Just a little fanboy gushing...

Ah, nuts. I missed the last two episodes and was hoping to catch this little marathon to get caught up, but I totally forgot that it was on. Shit. :( What are the odds of Cartoon Network showing all the chapters in a row again? Is there still another season coming up before Episode III is released, or was this it? I know that I can still get them online, but I'd rather watch them on my TV. |
I watched it last night in one long run.
GREAT! That Hammerhead Jedi's 4-throat Force-Yell was pretty cool... to bad Grievous got the best of him. One thing bugged me though, and it was an inconsistency in the animation. When Ani walks into the "Mother's Mouth" he's missing his scar and blue lightening paint, but when he emerges from the fog, he has it again... I don't see how they can miss things like that. Can't wait to get all 25 chapters on DVD. |

The first 2 seasons only had 3 minute chapters so it was about 30 minutes per season. |
Less hyperbole this time, which is good. Last season was so damn stupid because everything was so over the top... and it's hard to get more over the top than a Star Wars movie.
|
For those who missed it and don't mind squinting, chapters 21-24 are now available on the Star Wars web site, although in a very small size. It doesn't say if or when chapter 25 will be posted.

I finally watched these last night and thought they were damn good. Episodes 24 & 25 really got me jazzed up for ROTS.
|
I caught the last few minutes of 25, and thought I could catch the rest on the tape I set at home (I was at a different place and happened upon it). SON OF A BITCH!!! The tape ran out before chapter 24 aired!!! Anyone know when the Toon Network might air these again, or where I might be able to get them online?
PLEASE HELP!!! |
anyone find the MOV downloadable versions yet?
|
Chapter 25 is now on-line for those of you who missed it.
|
People were posting full eps when ch 1-20 were out, so what's a good place to get good quality versions? Ares?
|
I loved the clone wars series. All 25 episodes, err both volumes. IT was a great build up for episode 3. I'm planning to watch them all 1 more time in May before I go see episode 3, so 21-25 will have to sit on the Tivo till then :)
|
I was thinking about why they stayed with the primitive culture, and I believe it has to do with Obi-Wan learning from Qui-Gon. Remember in TPM when OWK tries to rush QGQ out of Otoh Gunga, but Qui is just going with the flow. Obi is probably trying to learn this too and teaching it to Anakin.
|
Okay, finally sat down and watched this. One question that came to mind was why bother abducting Palpatine? I don't get it. Are they going to start the movie with a rescue mission for him? It just seemed like a weird plot idea to me.
|
kidnapping Palpatine sets of a showdown, it lets Anakin be tested. It allows him to see how much Anakin has progressed and it would probably also make some of the senate sympathetic towards him.
no matter what happens Palpatine still wins, so he's got no reason not to go for it |
The movie does indeed start with the rescue mission and as said above it is to test Anakin and tempt him to the dark side further.
|
i cant believe he like falls into lava and then turns evil.
thats hecka weird! |
He turns evil and then falls in the lava. He's Darth Vader before he's in the life support suit.
|
I didn’t see this mentioned before, but in the hieroglyphics scene, the very last frame of the wall painting, the lines all morph into Darth Vader's mask. Maybe it was really obvious so people didn’t mention it. Or maybe people truly didn’t catch. I'm going with the former.

I just finished reading the novelization and it is pretty damn good. There's a fantastic chapter with Palpatine/Anakin where Anakin is asked "What do you want?"... I'm not sure how much of this will end up in the film (these movies aren't known for 20-minute dialog segments ;) ), but it is really well done. You can really understand Anakin's choices and while you may not agree with them, you can see where he's coming from and how things really aren't as black and white/good and evil as you thought they'd be. |

A few questions:
1. Does the clone wars take place over 3 years? 2. I don't recall but doesn't chapter 21 start where chapter 20 ends the battle with Grievious? Thus chapter 20-25 take place very soon before ROTS? 3. I've read that chapter 1 battle took place 4-5 months after the end of AOTC, would anyone have or be able to point to a timeline of when the battles were supposed to be during the war? Thanks. |

Is there anywhere to see them on the net for free? |
Clone Wars

Thanks, I misread there the last time I checked. I thought you had to be a hyperspace member even to watch the small ones.
Just watched all five of them. Can't wait until the 19th! |
Star Wars: The Clone Wars -- Season 1
Saw the preview this weekend on CN and it does look better than the the movie, a couple of reviews say the same thing:

I have my DVR set. I looked like there will be 2 episodes on Friday.

So is this different from the movie or is it the movie broken up?
