You had to feel a little bad for Joan after she really laid the groundwork for that position that Crane thoughtlessly gave away to a flunky. But it illustrates how equality in the workplace still had a ways to go.

Don's past catches up to him, though Betty is solely reliant on Jimmy's side of the story.

Peggy's own past is catching up to her as Father Gill works to save her soul.

Solid episode

Liked the scene with Betty and Don after the party where she laid into him.

Joan will, by season 4, throw both that guy and his glass of water out the window. By then, she will also be good and tired of assuming the role of Office Hood-ornament and demand better for herself. I couldn't believe how "subserviant" she was in her own home, but then again, this is 1962...

It's a man's world, Joan. A man's world.

Did you see the look on Joan's face at that point....man I would not want to be the one that sets her off after that....YIKES!

The Don/Betty thing did bring back some Sopranos memories, but this one is played out differently, which works for me.

Another solid episode. Does anyone know the song Colin Hanks was singing at the end? I have heard it before but I don't know the name.

Thank you! I have a co-worker that loves them and frequently "rock out" to them on her iPod.

fantastic episode. The three women leads continually steal the show from the guys. Moss, Hendricks, and Jones deserve emmys.

It's like reading a rich, well-written novel - another terrific episode!

Speaking of which, it would be cool if the writer for this show would also do serial novels. I wish David Chase of HBO's "The Wire" would do something like that, too, since his show is over.

I must admit I find this subplot to be wholly uninvolving. To me, Peggy just isn't as interesting as the other characters, and so far I'm indifferent to the priest. The class differences and moral tensions between her and the rest of her family are nicely portrayed though. The plastic on her Mother's couch was a nice touch. I did love that bit where she pretended to be her own secretary on the phone! The small, casual dishonesties that people take part in almost without thinking are refreshing to see on television - Duck lying about how he re-acquired his dog, Don fudging his pushup count in front of his wife. I guess now that Joan is engaged, she'll have to ditch her SWF-esque roommate. Does Betty no longer see her analyst? It seemed as if they were making actual progress towards the end there, with Betty voicing resentment towards her mother and acknowledgment of Don's infidelities. Pete's Miracle Whip quip was priceless.

"Crab, Duck. Duck, Crab."
