Agreed on Annie. I find both the character and the actress who plays her almost nauseating. On a somewhat related note, I can't explain it, but AnnaLynne McCord is annoying me less and less with each passing episode.

90210 -- "That Which We Destroy" -- 11/18/08

Synopsis:

Spoiler:

With their half brother, Sean (Josh Henderson), in town, Annie and Naomi call a truce to deal with his unexpected presence. Meanwhile, Silver isn't happy about the interest a cheerleader is showing in Dixon, and Kelly and Brenda struggle with the growing distance in their friendship.

Kelly and Brenda struggle with the growing distance in their friendship.

I just had a 1993 flashback.

spainlinx0 11-19-08 08:26 AM

I figured from the beginning it was some sort of setup. Hopefully they don't run a storyline where Dixon finds out but his findings are dismissed because he is "jealous" of the new brother.

Ranger 11-19-08 12:23 PM

I usually say 'good episode' but I was mostly bored this time. Maybe because I really hate lacrosse.

boogieman03 11-19-08 12:37 PM

I miss hot Jessica Stroup.

:(

Gizmo 11-19-08 02:33 PM

Few issues with this episode...
1. Anne twitched way too much
2. What California school actually does Lacrosse? I've live in California my whole life - an hour away from Bev. Hills - and have never seen anyone playing this.
3. It was a bit to obvious about the setup between the new "son"

And for those that did not get it, I'm guessing whatsherface is pregnant. The one dating Navid.

Red Dog 11-19-08 02:36 PM

I've said the same thing about lacrosse in a CA high school after the pilot episode. Although it is more of a rich kid/prep school type sport, so in that respect it fits.

I kind of liked this episode. The Mean Girls club should be good to watch.

Navid definitely ain't the father since he confessed to her that he's a virgin.

So according to Naomi, these characters are all sophomores? They look a little too old for that. Then again the original 90210 had 30-something Gabrielle Carteris as a high school student, so I guess I can let that slide.

Original Desmond 11-23-08 03:42 AM

I like Annie and Naomi as enemies

Naomis new social group is cool

Long lost step kid being bad and after something, sheesh what a cliche, that hasn't been done before. Don't like that storyline at all

Wow this episode is a disaster. Amazing Grace? Really? Is it possible that Shenae Grimes became a worse actress over the break?

Seems like there another show involving Brenda and Kelly that I'm missing and they're just giving us bits and pieces on this show.

I went from hating Adrianna to liking her and now it seems like they're putting her in another storyline that I'm going to hate.

I'm only liking her now because she looks 1000 times better when she's not strung out.

And no, Grimes did not become a worse actress. She's sucked consistently over the course of the series.

This is a seriously bad show. I don't know why I keep watching it. Maybe because I'm hoping it picks up the way Gossip Girl did after its shaky first season.

I haven't watched Bevery Hills 90210 since about 1992, but that picture looks like all the orginal cast is gone.

She did look much better.

This show is the textbook for bad acting, writing, etc. It's fucking horrible on so many levels.

I told my wife five minutes into the ep that she can delete the season pass whenever she is ready. I read a book throughout the ep.

I think I need to cut the cord on this trainwreck. I need to open up a tuner for college basketball in this timeslot.

Few things...

1. Anyone notice the seen with Dixon and Annie in the bathroom? He went to hug her (her arms crossed), next scene has her grabbing her ass, and then a cut to her arms being crossed. Very, very odd.

2. The house the part was being held at where Dixon embarrassed himself...was that the Coen (O.C.) home?

I couldn't focus on the plot, was dying of the kind of thirst only a Dr. Pepper would quench [/sarcasm-at-obnoxious-product-placement].

LOL, I thought the Dr. Pepper stuff was obnoxious too. The little placard thing on the bar counter was bad enough, but the huge sign affixed to the wall of the building was just ridonkulous.

Obviously you haven't been watching this new version. Jennie Garth and Shannen Doherty have reprised their roles as Kelly and Brenda.

Don't forget the Dr. Pepper soda machine that IIRC had only Dr. Pepper/7up products...plus the Dr. Pepper glasses they were drinking out of. In one scene there were 4 Dr. Pepper images...made me mad!

But yet, here I am typing this while drinking a Dr. Pepper...they win...:-(

I'm confused. Did you not like Privileged? Why did you give it up? I also watch it and even though I'm a few weeks behind, it's definitely a better show than 90210.

My wife loves that show. I have seen most of the eps and watched the ep the other night w/ her. It's a million times better than 90210.

Privileged is an Emmy best drama winner compared to 90210.

Nah, I was just saying that maybe 90210 is draining me because I don't feel like watching any more tv for the night after it.

But also because the ratings seem low even for the CW. And now:
Spoiler:
Michael Cassidy is getting the ax
Seems like it's going to be cancelled, but if it gets a 2nd season, I'll give it another chance.

Yes, I already watch Gossip Girl regularly, and will be a regular viewer of One Tree Hill after their great episode earlier this week.

DJariya 01-10-09 01:33 PM

Re: 90210 -- "Hello, Goodbye, Amen" -- 1/6/09

Horrible start for the new year. This episode was bad writing at it's finest:

1) Brenda can't have kids and acts like a bitch to Kelly
2) Adrianna is pregnant after being a slut during his druggy days
3) Harry's son is actually a con man
4) Dixon singing Amazing Grace.....where the hell did that come from? Of all songs the writers chose that?
5) Dixon's new "friend" is actually lesbian
6) Family pictionary? Really?

And the scenes with Naomi constantly rubbing it in Annie's face on how she's bonded with her half brother were painful to watch. Total over-acting by Annalynne McCord.

Besides that stupid Amazing Grace scene, I've actually grown to like Dixon and Silver. I also like Adrianna as well despite her cliched pregnancy plot.

Every scene with Shene Grimes and AnnaLynne McCord makes me want to puke.

Last week's episode sucked balls and was probably the worst since the Pilot. Hopefully this one isn't a stinker, but I'm not holding my breath.

Good episode, imo.

Would they cancel school in the northeast if the heater was broken in a snowstorm?

What kind of car did she get?

Yet it still sucked. I keep hanging around hoping that it picks up the way Gossip Girl did, but there's no Chuck or Blair equivalent on this show.
