Initially I thought AnnaLynne McCord (Naomi) was God awful. But, IMO she's actually improved and her character is becoming a little more interesting.

I agree with you. I won't miss Ethan.

Who's the new kid that's being promoted to a regular? Is he that bartender guy that Naomi was trying to hook up with?

I'm wondering that too. He was in TV Guide this week but I don't think I've ever seen him before. I guess it could be the bartender that ended up being a student in the last episode but come on are they really going to hang there hat on somebody they just barely introduced?

I think Liam is the "bad boy" that Naomi met in detention, not the bartender. This long break has made me a bit fuzzy, but I think he was the guy that kept telling Naomi he wouldn't play games with her.

That's the Hispanic guy I think. I remember that guy and he's not the new guy.

Yes, the new kid - Matt Lanter - plays the ex-bartender/new student Liam
who Naomi tries to hook up with - pictures as him as the bartender on his
IMDB.com page - http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1782667/

I think the detention guy was named Ozzie who was played by Michael Trevino

What has everyone thought about Aimee Teegarden's (Julie from Friday Night Lights) character Rhonda? Dead weight? I think her character is a little cliched. It's obvious she just needed the work while Friday Night Lights was in limbo.

BTW, I think that Lori Loughlin has been wasted on this show. She is a solid actress, but her character has brought little to nothing on this show. At least Carol Potter (Mrs. Walsh) had a stronger role on the original 90210 and was a strong motherly figure. I don't think Loughlin's character has brought that at all. Same goes with Harry if I compare him with Mr. Walsh.

Fast and furious!

Sex video!

Dr. Pepper!

I think Lori got a bit screentime this week. But not much.

Glad it's back. Happy that Adrianne and Navid were still together. I know no one likes her, but I liked that Annie flipped things back against Ethan.

Silver really is crazy. I wouldn't be surprised if she:
Spoiler:
commits suicide, since a character is supposed to die later this season.

Agreed. I wonder if they'll pull an old-school 90210 type of heavy-handed, preachy lesson about bi-polar disorder and when you see the signs, tell an adult immediately (complete with the a psa featuring the actors).

Not for nothing, but I still enjoy this show. The shit with Silver really did come out of left field. Apparently she is sick or off her meds or something. That was freaky when she broke in to Ryan's apartment. Hopefulyl we will get soem more Adrianna in next weeks ep. Aimee Teegarden has been wasted in this, in my opinion. Maybe I am just used to seeing her in FNL, but they havent given her enough to do here.

Synopsis:

Spoiler:

A distraught Silver goes missing after her video debacle, prompting a frantic search by Ryan and Kelly. Meanwhile, Adrianna and Navid babysit for Kelly; and Dixon tells his parents about Silver's odd behavior.

The episode title kind of describes Silver going coo coo for coco puffs last week. Anyways, this episode was directed by Jason Priestly.

I'm just glad that they squeezed 2 Dr. Pepper signs into this one.

So they gave Silver the same disorder that her brother had in the original, except that he got it from his mother. Also, have they ever said what happened to Mel Silver in this series?

resinrats 04-08-09 11:31 AM

Re: 90210 -- "Off the Rails" -- 04/07/09

I can't recall any word on Mel other than Silver not wanting to live with him (so I guess he is alive).

Still haven't heard about Steve, Valorie or David (I assume married to Donna yet). Andrea hasn't been mentioned yet but her kid was in the pilot so she must be nearby.

Synopsis:

Spoiler:

Donna Martin (Tori Spelling) shocks Kelly and Silver with a surprise visit. While in town, Donna agrees to design a dress for Oscar-winning screenwriter Diablo Cody (playing herself). Elsewhere, Annie and Dixon revisit Dixon's past over spring break; and Ethan, Naomi and Liam volunteer for Habitat for Humanity.

Donna Martin returns. Here's what the showrunner says about what has happened with her character:

Spoiler:

http://www.nj.com/newsflash/index.ss...=entertainment

Show-runner Rebecca Rand Kirshner Sinclair says Tori's "funny and unique and really sweet as pie (and she) and I both only wanted to do it if it was organic to the new show and respectful of the legacy of the original." She added, "Donna and David have a little baby girl, named Ruby, who they've been raising in Japan. still in love, but their relationship is under strain.

Also, I really really hate Shenae Grimes. Is it too late for the 90210 producers to re-cast Annie? I can't believe that I'm saying this now since I thought she was awful when the show began, but AnnaLynne McCord (Naomi) is soooo much more entertaining to watch. The Annie and Ethan crap is like nails running through a chalk board.

They couldnt find a better reason for Brian Austin Green not being on the show ???!!! Making up a story that Donna and David are separated just so she can be on the new 90210 takes away from the original 90210 when they get married.

Also...the product placement for Dr. Pepper has become ridiculous.

The OP should start these threads with a Dr. Pepper photo in the future. That's the true star of this show and can pretty much out-act any human cast member.

Re: 90210 -- "Okaeri, Donna!" -- 04/14/09

http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/show...dr-pepper.html

There is so much I want to say about tonight's episode of "90210." So much that was good, really good! I want to talk about the way I teared up a little, when Dixon Wilson watched his birth mother laugh with Annie Wilson in Arizona. I want to talk about the way the unlikely friendship between Ethan Ward and Liam Court charmed and surprised me, and the way Ethan's faux-peyote realization gave his character -- finally -- a reason to be there on the screen; that was powerful stuff.

But I can't. Because I need to interrupt this edition of "90210"-Showtracker to bring you a special message from our sponsor: Dr. Pepper.

Were they kidding with that tonight?

Tonight's episode of "90210" deserves an award, for the single most egregious example of product placement in the history of television. Once or twice, it felt like a "Saturday Night Live" spoof of a television show doing product placement.

Perhaps the most offensive of the (myriad) Dr. Pepper placements tonight came when Dixon and Annie were in the car on their way to Arizona. Dixon was driving, and he designated Annie as the refreshment manager. She reached into the back seat and cracked open a huge cooler. "No," I thought; "they won't put a Dr. Pepper in the cooler. It's too ridiculous." But not only was there Dr. Pepper in the cooler, there was nothing else in it! Dr. Peppers in a huge pile, with maybe a single Diet Dr. Pepper for variety's sake, crowded the space.

But it got even better (read: more ridiculous). The road-trippers pulled over at a rest stop so Annie could use the bathroom, and an exasperated Dixon sighed, "maybe if you stopped drinking so much Dr. Pepper!" Annie didn't miss a beat: "We're on a road trip! Drinking Dr. Pepper is practically a requirement." OK, now they're just messing with us, right?

Anyways, in that scene, we discovered that Dixon was really plotting this trip to Arizona not to scope out water parks but to find his birth mother, Dana Bowen. Then eventually, Annie and Dixon found her, at her workplace, but Dixon was too flummoxed to approach. Instead, he watched as his mother unloaded a pile of tupperware from her briefcase. It's a wonder she didn't not pull out a Dr. Pepper.

After Annie's heart-to-heart with Dixon's birth mom, she and Dixon headed home in the car together. One of them changed the radio station, Dr. Pepper in hand. Close-up. Would it be easier if these characters just had Dr. Peppers instead of hands?

Listen. I am really not trying to be negative here. I am rooting for this show to be great, and for the most part, I actually think it was tonight. However, product placement was so ubiquitous and clunky it was almost insulting. And so, this blog was devoted to Dr. Pepper tonight. Mmmmmm ... Tasty.

Spoiler:

Donna (Tori Spelling) opens up to Kelly about her recent separation, and the two hunt for a site for Donna's new clothing store. Meanwhile, Naomi and Annie try to work through their differences; Ethan and Liam continue to bond; and Adrianna interviews potential adoptive parents. Series star Rob Estes directed the episode.

Thought the new promo picture might amuse some of you. I kinda liked Donna's return last week. I heard that Shannen Doherty might be back for 1 more episode this season. I kinda like Liam. He really showed what an ignorant douche bag Ethan was last week with the whole Indian potion/drugs thing.

90210 -- Season Finale -- "One Party Can Ruin Your Whole Summer" -- 5/19/09

Synopsis:

Spoiler:

In the first-season finale, Naomi throws a post-prom party at her place and has a fit when she walks in on Liam and Annie, making accusations that push Annie to her breaking point. Meanwhile, Brenda (Shannen Doherty) goes to the hospital to see Adrianna as she delivers the baby, and Dixon and Ethan get into a fight over Silver.

Haven't done a 90210 thread for a few weeks, but since it's the season finale, I thought it was worthwhile.

Those of you who have stuck with it, did you like it or were you disappointed by it or did you think this show was a mistake?

I think after the show got off to a fricking horrible start, it somewhat grew on me. However, I never thought I would hate the lead actress as much as I do now. Shenae Grimes is a fucking shitty actress. I actually like AnnaLynne McCord now and I thought she was terrible to start the season.

Adrianna is probably my favorite female character among the new characters.

I am so glad Dustin Milligan (Ethan) will not be returning next season. I fucking hated his character.

The show is exactly what I expected. It's not a very good show but it's enjoyable for what it is.
Shenae Grimes is horrible.
Adrianna went from being my most hated character to my favorite character.

A big 'meh' from me. Like Adriana and Silver, but the rest are boring. I've also now decided to call 'Dr Pepper' 90210 when I am at fast food places "Hun, you want Coke, Sprite or 90210?".

Where is the Grandma? Is she going to be like the dog on the Brady Bunch or Chuck from Happy Days?
