Question about Friday Night Lights

Hello

Is it absolutely necessary or fundamental to see "Friday Night Lights - The movie" before "Friday Night Lights - TV series ?

thanks

Absolutely not. They are completely unrelated, which is good because the movie wasn't very good IMO.

You don't need to, but the movie is pretty damn good in it's own right. Not as good as the show, but the groundwork is laid there and I think after you see season 1, it's worth going back and checking out the movie.

I saw the movie after loving the first season of FNL, and I'm so glad I did because I didn't like the movie at all--didn't even make it through it. It was kinda funny to see a FEW of the same actors in the movie, but overall, just go for the series. It's some of the best TV ever.

Yeah - not necessary. I never saw the movie.
