So WTF is his problem? Ok, he had a bad childhood. Boo-fucking-hoo. Get over it already.
Sleeping with that lady seemed to get Don his mojo back and he was able to get back into his alpha dog role. Ironically, Betty seemed so happy at the end even though he is back to being a cad.

I think last season was about Don being "bad", but by the end, realizing what he had and sort of feeling ashamed of his cheating ways, both personally and professionally.
It seems like so far this season is about Don trying to do the right thing (trying to not sell out to American Airlines, not having affairs) and while he might be conflicted, he's still realizing what a charmed life he has and trying hard not to fuck it up.

From: Northern New Jersey...or as we say it "Sopranos Country USA"
In a way it parallels the final season of The Sopranos. The thing is, we have yet to see the real "Don". The writers just scratched the surface near the end of last season, so I am sure there is way more for us to find out.

The Belle Jolie exec who reluctantly turns down Harry's "Defenders" pitch is Elliot Lawrence, who invited Salvatore to dinner -- and then up to his hotel room -- in one of the best scenes in season one. Now that Salvatore has burrowed deep into the closet, note how cold he is to Elliot's innocuous question about how he's doing. Note also Elliot lamenting the fact that he doesn't work for a more progressive company; he's overtly talking about the abortion episode, but there are surely other ways in which Belle Jolie could be a friendlier place for him to work.
Also in the Defenders screening: Belle Jolie's Elliot Lawrence, who tried to pull Salvatore out of the closet in "The Hobo Code" last season, which explains Sal's extremely frosty reaction to an innocent "How's it going?"

This episode was gorgeously shot. It was also truly stunning. What Don did - and said - in that restaurant lobby, left me breathless. Great scene and perfectly executed.
I think this is probably my favorite show on television right now.

Speaking of Salvatore Romano - they're making him "more obvious" than what he appeared from last season, aren't they? I mean, he didn't come off as effeminine in Season One, yet he's dripping with it now in Season Two.
This season they have implied he got married and I hope they explore that more.

There were some earlier scenes in season 1, where Sal was looking longingly at the sketch of his neighbor sun-bathing and then there was that scene at the club where one of the guys at work said something about how there was a lot of men there and under his breath he said something like "Yeah, I noticed."

What I find interesting about Sal is that how to us, now, he seems obviously gay, but in 1960 he would have just been thought as dapper and artistic. People didn't have any gaydar back then.

Which made Don's mention of the film in the following week not totally out of left field for his character. Somehow he didn't strike me as the kind of guy who did subtitles.
